Think the gimmik though is that when using the 'beats earphones' the mobile would straight away recognise this and the whole beats thing would work properly. Surely possible to override this but can see it being the hook many style-over-substance lemmings will go for!

I love that HTC seem to have responded to the battery issue which is why I had this phone earmarked but at £36 a month (and thats if the contract works for you and you don't need extras: rare!) I think I'll stick it out a bit longer and wait for the battery issue to be addressed with lower cost mobiles- or for someone to create a battery which can be transfered to HTC mobiles as still not a fan of the Samsung interface no matter how amazing everyone says the handsets are.

Just incase anyone had been waiting.

Phones4u are now taking pre-orders for the XE. Cheapest is on O2 and works out to nearly £850 over 2 years.
Handset is around £450 to purchase sim free, cheapest comparitive sim would work out to around £240 per 2 years.

Take your pick but don't forget topcashback if you do go for it, (£45 for a new contract).
