Three offers unlimited data to all its customers
might of interest to some of you:

Network Three has extended its all-you-can-eat data offer to every mobile customer - for an extra £3 a month.
With the generous data deal widened to include those on The One Plan, as well as PAYG patrons through a £15 bundle pack, the company must have deemed it unfair on all remaining contract customers and has now opened the doors to all.

Excellent news.
Though comes at an interesting time, when Mr Dyson says that 3 will run out of bandwidth/spectrum by the end of next year.0 -
It doesn't seem to be ALL customers as SIM only is excluded.0
-
The 3 network is already heavily congested and barely usable in the evening - so just prepare for an even slower internet experience on the 3 network in the evening.
"all you can eat" sounds really good - until you find out that a crowd of 500 people turns up for dinner and there is only one cook (but you should be fine if you want to have dinner at 4 o'clock in the morning).0 -
yes very congested
got my 2 workers on vodafone...every time i have to call them, i have to try 2-3 times for them to answer, instead of the vodafone answe machine
my wife on 02, the same... and they all work in diferent places almost every day .
my mate s iphone, is always on 1 bar
my dirty and in 2 pieces blackberry 9700 allways flying on search etc..poor three getting bashed nicely every time, no mater if they give or take from costumers0 -
i think to be honest all the networks are getting congested
that's why they are bring 4g out will give the networks some breathing space and be a lot faster.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
Is that why it used to be so slow whenever I tried to use it! I just thought they were playing games with me as they were in effect paying me to have the last few months of the contract (long and painful story and I felt I earned those few months ! )
Does anyone know how it compares to 02 and TMobile in terms of speed (in London if thats any help). Trying to work out which company is best to go with for data (not 3 again, never ever ever EVER again!). They seem to offer the best price for what I want -and sorry to hijack!0 -
All networks are congested in London, as is London itself.
I found that O2 was particularly bad in London, especially in Pimlico
In reports T-mobile doesn't come out well either.0 -

Indeed... And think how worse it's going to be next year with all the people coming for the 'Lympics... Though I have to say that at least with 3 I get a usable data connection around Canary Wharf during the daytime, unlike when I was with Vodafone (you'd get a full signal but it was completely unusable due to congestion). Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Decided to enable AYCE data on m old "3togo" SIM (contact but £0/month rental - nothing inclusive)
When asked about data
- First suggested I used £1/MB or whatever the price is
- Then suggested £5/month for 2GB
I suggested £3/month for AYCE ;-) -- a little consultation and headscratching & they decided it was valid.
Result!
The funny thing is I don't really need it -- it's mostly a backup sim/smartphone but I took a punt on getting it enabled before they changed their mind. So I guess it's win for the network (negligible use) and win for me (backup when I need it).
My main phone is on vodafone due to coverage, but with limited data. The thought it as well as guarding against broken phone/no voda signal I could also use for data wifi via tethering. The latter is a little dubious as technical it's not allowed, but unlimited use from phone is, and I'd just use tethering from another phone, over wifi, to avoid swapping SIM. With negligible use I suspect it won't be an issue.
TBH I'd switch back to 3 totally if I could, but no coverage at work, virtually none at home (only 1 or two shelves) and lots of patches in countryside + other indoor locations make it untenable. Vodafone costs ££ but provides broader base-level coverage (slow data at time though)What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
If i'm reading that correctly, you have a 3 PAYG sim, but only pay £3 a month to get AYCE. You don't pay for anything else on the sim at all?0
