  • :D lol!

Another NSD day for me so that's a total of £20 in the Ascot pot, and even managed to save money in sending a thank you card by using one hidden in a back of a draw! Tomorrow should also be NSD so that'd be really good.

Got invited out for dinner on Monday but managed to turn it round so that they come to mine and I'll cook a HUGE pot of spag bol and freeze the rest for myself...

6 items finishing on ebay on Saturday, got a few being "watched" I'd love it if they all sold!

  • I stockpile cards when they are on sale too :)

Well done on the NSD :T . I still haven't managed it. I'll really need to if I'm going to make my money last until the end of the month. I am spending a helluva lot less by taking lunch to work though.

  • My gosh, temptation is RIFE today people!!!!

As it is Macmillan Coffee Morning, I am literally SURROUNDED by cakes, sausage rolls and various goodies and my desk is just about in the middle of it all. They're only a pound each but I do find myself thinking I don't want to break my £10 note - I want a NSD! I do donate £3 to Macmillan every month by DD as they helped a friend of mine out very much through her discovery of evil cells so I don't feel too guilty for not buying today.

To add to this, I have just been hounded by a trainee to join in the football predictions game. I am not a fan of football so not only am I un-interested again, I dont want to break my tenner! So I am avoiding all this by saying I simply have no cash :) Pat on the back for me!

A colleague who lives nearby also asked me for dinner tonight locally, luckily I have the excuse of a stinking cold to avoid that one! PHEW the world just does not want me to succeed in this, I am feeling good for staying strong and by not spending today I will have an extra £30 for the races tomorrow. Putting it all into perspective like that is really helping me stay on track. The weekend will be the biggest test but I am optimistic. The bank card is not coming to the races so I won't be able to spend and on Sunday I have my free mystery shopper meal so no reason to spend there either! I shall report back!

Had another lovely ride this morning on a dear old boy (HORSE!) who just needs his legs stretching, however we were surprised by another girl being carted off with by her highly strung horse coming towards us so we formed a barrier to save her skin! :)

Now, off to the canteen for lunch, I haven't gone over my free allowance this week so I have had breakfasts and lunches for free all week - score!

    Ta ta for now!

  • Just one last thought for the day: Paying off debt and eating well dont go hand in hand!

I only had £2 left of my allowance for lunch, the healthy main meals were all £3+ and sandwiches/wraps are over £2, so I went for chips, peas and gravy (yes I am originally from north of the Watford Gap!) only costing £1.30 therefore I have enough for a snack later.

Good for money saving.... BAD for hips! :D

    Enjoy the sun all....

  • Hi LondonGirl, loving your enthusiasm, Ive just started a diary aswell but have hit a low ebb after the excitement of dealing with things. Its only been a week i think! anyway keep up the good work!
  • I think the waistline on my bank is more important - youre right!

Hi LooseCannon - LOVE the username! I have been there, trust me I will subscribe to your diary and try and keep you motivated too! I'm only on day 3 (since the latest LBM) so I expect the enthusiasm will decrease once the excitement wears off but I'm trying to look at it all as a challenge and a game :)

I just went through to finance and nicked (with the owners consent) a Wispa :) maybe petty (consented) theft is the way to financial freedom??? Thought for the day :)

  • Right team, I am off home for the weekend!

I'm nervous my first weekend will go t*ts up and I'll go crazy but I'm weirdly excited that by Sunday I just might have been good and I'll money to throw at my c cards.

My flatmate is pressurising me to go boozing and man hunting with her soon, i said yes - once I have more cash. So this is anothe incentive for me to have NSD's and throw tenners back in my pot each day. Although I do feel my hard work is wasted on a night out when I could be reducing debt and I know I'd prefer to get rid of it so any ideas to make it cheap.... :p

I'll be logging in over the w/e to report :D

Enjoy the sun if you can!
