I'm suprised that no media has clocked onto the silly prices stuff going on right now ? .....

  • Could anybody help me please? When you use your bank statement to return things does it have to be just for that exact amount? i.e. if I wanted to return something that cost £30 but my bank statement says £75. Also do they always accept a bank statement as proof?

Mine is valid until 22nd October and must be scanned instore along with your clubcard. Also got a till spit last week for 50 extra points when £5.00 or more is spent so if I get both scanned thats £3.00 Ill wait until double rewards comes back and its worth £6, is it correct clubcard rewards are going to 4x on certain things ie restraunts days out etc??

Yes 4 x ie for every £10 in clubcard vouchers you can change them for say £40 hilton hotel vouchers (what I am doing) two nights away in December all food paid, loads of stuff for kids all free thanks to Mr T, originall it was only going to be one night as we were only getting 3x but now its back to 4 x :j:j. I hope to have saved enough again by March next year to take us all to Legoland for DS birthday but hotels about there very expensive and we stay in Scotland so would prob need 2 nights :(

  • Found this today- Reeves A3 sketch pad, it's a black hard cover book, 96gsm. £1,40. Two were unmarked in the sale section and found another one lying about randomly with the stationery. It's a good quality sketch pad, definitely worth looking out for.
Also a lovely little gardening tidy for kids at 4p!! The ones I saw were pink and it's got a bag with compartments, mini fork, rake, watering can and plant markers... The markers alone would cost more than the whole set!

But, best of all- after having a coffee, I decided to go back in and pester the guy at the electrical desk to look for the laptops on my list. For once I got someone that knows what he's talking about and was willing to check stock in the back for me...After a few unsuccessful searches, he came back with the Toshiba L670D. I nearly fell over, was so surprised! At £179 it's not the headline top bargain lappy, but it's got great spec and will do me fine. And picked up a laptop sleeve for £3.00 to put it in :)

I got chatting to him about the bargains and he told me he got an Ipod (13gig?) for a pound, cheapcheap cameras and hard drives also around a pound. Obviously these items would never have hit the shelves in most stores, but it's the perks of the job I guess... He also said he's got about 2 boxes full of the 40p batteries...did begrudge him that one though as I've never seen them on the shelves in any T's in Glasgow!

Now I've got my laptop, I can finally stop the madness and spend some much needed time sorting and clearing out stuff...

Tesco Double chocolate chip muffin mix, 350g, current SEL 64p, but old style box, b/code ends 5824, going through at 16p :)

And Baileys mint, (RTC) 70cl, SEL £10.49, (reduced from £12.00), went through at £6.99 this evening :)

  • Ooh, nearly forgot- also a nice little unexpected DTD- 2 packs of reduced Ballisto biscuit bars. Yellow price on it 50p, scanned 1.49 ea! CS chap rung up 1.98 and asked me to pop my card in, then I said, 'Shouldn't that be double for the two packs?' with a sweet smile. He quietly changed the amount, never said a thing! So got paid £2.96 to take them :)
  • Hi all. First time poster, recent lurker. ;) Today I managed to pick up from the reduced to clear section:

2x double fitted sheet "petrol" - £1.75 each
    3x small candle in a vase - £0.20 each

These were the last in the section (at the Chelmsford tesco near iceland) but there were a few other greatly reduced bits and bobs of bedding. Very small ammount as the store isn't huge and doens't stock that much bedding. They also had black pedestal mats, no SEL, price checker said they were £3.50 - didn't get one as it wouldn't match with my £0.65 blue bath mat - aqquired two days ago at the Homeplus. Sadly, none left there today, I should have gotten another one while I had the chance.

Didn't find any of the cheap electrical stuff, and haven't really had much luck with most of the excellent grabbits that show up around, but it's nice to see people sharing.

  • I need your help everyone.... advice please...

I travel nearly 25 miles to tesco... so when I go I tend to spend a good few hours there, having coffee, lunch etc etc etc..

Anyway, I too spend my money there!!!

I got a letter today with times and dates that I have gone over the 3 hour maximum parking in the carpark.. I was sooooooooo p*ss*d off. I phone CS, only to be told that its not their responsibility that the carpark has nothing to do with them.. So I pointed out to him, that I didnt care who was responsible for the car park because at the end of the day, MY money goes into Tesco's pocket regardless..
I can honestly say, hand on heart, I have never parked in Tesco carpark and walked into town.. If my cars in Tesco, then so am I..

Anyway the letter states my car number plate, dates and times of both times Ive gone over the 3 hour time scale, the letter states "Unfortunatly should it happen again it may result in you receiving a parking charge notice"...:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I said he would contact HO... but is it worth me contacting our dear Phillip myself, as I went to another Tesco last monday, and it was 50 miles from home, so I had coffee and lunch there too, and Im just about sure Ive gone over the 3 hr limit...

My reduced toys were cancelled last night. My reduced irons were cancelled tonight. I had a phone call from Tesco saying that they've sent me e-mails for money off my next on line shopping. I've just checked and they have sent me £30 worth of vouchers. Result!
