OMG Looby, so this happened before you had even paid? They marched up to you and accused you of something you hadn't even done? They were that smart that they were able to tell you an offer wouldn't work before they'd even been scanned yet the labels were still there?
I'd be going back and asking that manager for the lottery numbers seeing they seemingly knew what you were going to do before you'd even done it.
Or, if you'd already paid and were looking for a manager, how did they know you'd be asking for DTD. For all they knew you might have simply asked for a refund.0 -
ok...am mortified.....been out to my 2 locals ( i often go at night to get some whoopsies!)....first one- fine...got reduced Halloween out for DD and a few bits of food we needed..and flowers...all good.....then on to local number 2.....had a look round, scanned a couple (6) toys...found the knife set marked as 3 for 2...so put 3 in my trolley....got a couple of bits of food.....went to pay at SS (all tills are shut at 10pm)....not only got completely and utterly trouted - got BANNED!!!!!!
when I got my DTD there a few weeks ago on a phone they were really awkward and refused to give me DTD - then refused to give me cash (they wanted to give me vouchers)....and it was this same manager who came marching up to me today at the SS....she grabbed the knives and told me that they werent 3for2...when i said why does the sticker say 3for2 then, she said she would honour the price for me as she would not be giving me DTD on it as shes been watching me and knows that I am 'looking' for DTD and 'abusing' their policy ....now this is where I was stupid....I SHOULD of said,'ok thanks'...but I said, 'welli dont want them then'...which kind of backed up what she was saying!
She then continued to go on at me saying that since my DTD she has had security watch me every time I come in, and that I am suspicious as I scan lots of things...and because my DTD was so high last time they are suspicious of me! I was furious! The security manager came along who told me that he has followed me many times and has every right to do so (which i agree with and told him this)....I asked what it is that I'm doing wrong - using their self scanners to check prices as in the last few weeks many items have been massively reduced, so I'd like to know the price before I get to the till - whats wrong with that? I also said that I'venever been sly about it - all 3 DTDs in that shop have gone through a manned till, not self service....so surely the till staff are not doing their job properly if they dont see the reduced price...or the other staff arent doing theirs properlyby removing OOD SELs or stickers! His reply was that they would very much prefer it if I didnt come in their shop again! When I asked how long this 'ban' would last,I was told 'forever'!!!
I felt so embarrassed- this was all at the SS in front of other customers....I walked with dignity back to my car...smoked a cigarette furiously then came home to tell hubby....who just laughed!!! He'llbe laughing on the other side of his face soon though, cos he'll have to go to that store instead now!!
sorry for the long post...but had to vent.....and also hope this serves as a bit of a warning to others to be careful and always have excuses ready!!!
OMG you must have felt terrible, my heart goes out to you Looby123 but hey you seem to have taken it on the chin and kept your dignity good for you.:T
Here's a little joke i found to cheer you up hope you like it
Banned from TESCO’s
Didn't like shopping there anyway. Yesterday I was at my local TESCO’s
store buying a large bag of Winalot dog food for my loyal pet and was
in the checkout queue when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.
What did she think I had, an elephant? So, since I'm retired and have
little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was
starting the Winalot Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn’t,
because I ended up in hospital last time, but I'd lost 2 stone before I woke
up in intensive care with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs
in both arms.
I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it
works is to load your pockets with Winalot nuggets and simply eat one
or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it
works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that
practically everyone in queue was now enthralled with my story.)
Horrified, she asked me if I ended up in intensive care because the dog
food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off the kerb to sniff an Irish
Setter's a**e and a car hit me.
I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was
laughing so hard. I'm now banned from TESCO’s. Better watch what you
ask retired people. They have all the time in the world to think of daft
things to say.0 -

Another HUKD 300g After Eight £1.50
I bought 2 packs today in Tesco but didn't realise I'd got a cheap deal so didn't post it:o I think the label said £3 each (which is far too expensive) but 2 for £4 which is a tad high but assumed that prices have risen a bit since I last bought them at this time of year for OH Christmas Stocking. Do this every year so didn't think the price was unusual.Haven't looked at HUKD for details but think it may be part of the changeover on Tesco deals at the moment and wouldn't be surprised to see these still at £3 but BOGOF.
AS I've said before(somewhere) there is method in the madness at Tesco. You don't get to be the biggest and most profitable supermarket without a good marketing plan. Before anyone says it's through overcharging be prepared to be challenged;)Awaiting a new sig0 -
Awww no smarties or aero for me today, however was bored so went to my usual store for a stroll around. It's very annoying at the moment ad it's under going a refit so everything changes place daily.
Anyway I managed to pick up 20 x 500ml of chocolate ambrosia custard for 2p each, a few others bits that have already been mentioned, BUT I got my 1st ever self found DTD, Ie one I discovered myself without it being posted on here.
I noticed the campbells cup a soups (4 in a box) were £1.08 and BOGOF so I picked up 2 for DF to take to work, paid along with other shopping and then reslised NO BOGOF. So before I went to CS I put my shopping in the car, went back instore to check the SEL it was dated the 23rd oct, so was 2 days out of date. Realising the potential for a massive DTD I grabbed 16 boxes, went to a manned till to pay along with a few reduced items to bulk it put a little. I checked the receipt and they had gone through as 3 for £2, so off I trotted to CS. SA couldn't have been more helpful. I got them for free, well actually they paid
me £6.xx to take them away ad the SA didn't take the 3 for £2 discount into account when giving me my DTD. They are dated till sept 13, so plenty of te to use them.
I'm so proud of myself, I feel I have passed my Trsco initiation and I am now a hardcore glitcher.
These tesco glitches ate helping me and my kids, my mum and her husband who got made redundant 2 years ago and has been told he's too old (60) to get a job, as no one will employ him, so every penny really does count.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
A friend of mine got dtd on a big box of persil wash powder charged £6 but a sign for £3 it's her first one ever lol and she's well chuffed so maybe worth a quick look round the wash powder section (not that I need any for another year lol)

These biscuits:
http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/search/default.aspx?searchBox=quirks
are in a big cardboard display at the end of the biscuit aisle in my local with an introductory price of £1.
The £1 offer has expired though so they go through at £1.39 - a dtd refund of 78p, cost of 61p a packet.
It is just an ood label but as they are in a big cardboard display I think it is easier for the staff to miss the label when checking the shelves so thought you may want to look out for it. I know how much you all like chocolate...If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0
