I don't think as a percentage of shoppers, there are many that watch their money.
I've had various people disbelieve that I'll check all the local shops, Co-op, Morrisons and tesco's for the best buys.
I have on occasion, also gone out of my way, to shop at Aldi in another town.
I'll keep checking glitches at T's, reductions and whoopsies.
But not allowing conditional spends will mean they are likely to less of my custom.
We'll just have to be savvier shoppers than we presently are!
The double clubcard points have swung it for same priced items sometimes too. Single points from next week I believe.
But the change in clubcard points affects people in different ways. Those that normally get rewards vouchers should hopefully receive more value for their points.
I agree that not many people I know are budget minded despite the current economic climate. I think we could reduce our household spend by at least 25% without affecting our standard of living by shopping wisely. This involves spending a little more time but means it would pay for a holiday each year.Awaiting a new sig0 -

Anyway will catch up properly in the morning, when now doubt there will be a few more pages to read:eek:

What:eek:Please explain'I'm at a loss to understand your post
ok artha, I have read all of your posts on this forum and without wanting a long drawn out debate, my thinking is that a lot of the time you do come across as a little off-hand and perhaps righteous. I think when you talk about things like you education, t's shares and things like the poor it comes across to a lot of people on here as judgmental and that you think you are better than them, it certainly does with me.
However I just tend to ignore the posts that i disagree with as not everyone has the same opinion and i accept that everyone has a right to theirs even if i don't agree with it.
My opinion of this though (rightly or wrongly) and based on my experiences of being a difficult person to read myself, is that I think most of the time you probably do mean well ( with probably a few exceptions:)) but that you are not that great a communicating yourself and, as already said by others, this is something that may need a little practice to avoid being misunderstood.
It took me a little time to get used to how these forums work but by sticking with it a reading the posts, I think (well at least i hope) i seem to be getting the hang of it without offending too many people.
Just stick with it, join in and keep posting your finds and try not to get into any long debates, if someone doesn't agree with you, just try to accept it and not let it bother u too much.
In my short time on here i've learnt that the op's on this thread are really friendly and forgiving and i'm sure that if you don't get drawn into long debates, then you'll fit in just fine:):D:)

SNOB & TORY come to mind
hey, artha was replying to my original post, so I don't think you should be having a go at him/her!
It was my reflection, in that not many people that I know, are cutting back on their grocery bills!
Lot still at work, buy in town centre shops, eg M&S. Buy top range, buy top brands, don't plan ahead, wouldn't consider going late shopping to pick up whoopsies etc.
Those of us who are savvy shoppers are by far in the minority.
But then, the fewer that do shop carefully, leaves more bargains for those of that do shop carefully!
Off to work now, and no internet today.
Have a good day one and all!The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0 -
