So no-one is disputing my calculations then? Glad to see my 1 bronze, 1 silver and 1 gold UK National Maths Challenge awards have been of use. Me & trigonometry don't work well together but put me in front of obtuse uses for maths (such as working out whether I've been diddled or whether I've gotten one over on Ts) and I'll sit down and work it out to the bitter end!
Ohhhhh my maths teachers would be so proud of me. Maybe I should go 2 doors down and ask one of the maths teachers at my old school if she's impressed though she didn't actually teach me herself. Yes, scary coincidence finding out your neighbour was almost one of your teachers. I still get nervous in front of her same as when I met another old teacher last week - why? It's been *cough* 15 years since I left, I'm a grown woman now, I have 2 kids and I'm still scared of old teachers :eek:0 -

Oldie but a goldie
:
And now, the end is near,
And so I face the final coupon.
My friends, I'll say it clear;
I'll state this promo got poop on.
I've DTD'd a life that's full -
I've travelled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
I DTD'd it my way.
Regrets? I've had a few,
But then again, too few trouts to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw shops through without exemption.
I planned each charted course -
Each careful step along the byway,
And more, much more than this,
I DTD'd it my way.
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew,
When I bit off more than I could chew,
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and till spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall
And DTD'd it my way.
I've loved, I've laughed and cried,
I've had my fill of magnums, beef, enigmas - my share of lamb.
But now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.
To think I did all that,
And may I say, not in a shy way -
Oh no. Oh no, not me.
I DTD'd it my way.
For what is a man? What has he got?
If not his Spreadsheet - Then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took Tesco for the cheats they are
And DTD'd it my way.
Yes, I DTD'd it my way.
This one certainly takes the Oscar. Love it love it love it!!!

Ok here's my attempt at maths with the flu:
Assuming that the bottles were the same price then ..
1.78 each
6 * 1.78 = £10.68
3 for £2 = -£3.34
3 for £2 = -£3.34
Total savings = £6.68
Your savings = £1.68 + £3.56 = £5.24
Overcharge = £1.24
DTD = £2.48
The 2 for £3 saving should have been £4.68 not £1.68 so you were diddled by £3 if that had been the real offer but then you were given the 2nd saving of £3.56 so if the offer had been 2for£3 then you would have been 56p up (or 1/3 of a bottle). Given than none of the savings was correct according to the SELs you did very well indeed to get given your £6 back.
You only actually paid £5.44 for the 6 bottles so you ended up 56p in profit!!! Well done! :T
I think the maths is right but I reserve the right to blame the lurgy on any miscalculations.
sounds about right to me!

btw, beware of the yogurt deal, I got caught out with it as I got a mullerice and 9 yogs, but although both on 10 for £3, app can't mix rice and yog (or so they told me when I realised had been charged £6ish for yogurt!!
Also, is it yogurt or yoghurt?!0 -
Jumbles: were you around in the big DTD days earlier this year? (April May ISTR?)
Great days, £400 DTD a day just by doing 20 shops
I certainly was but only at the tail end of it. I remember that lyrical gem from then. It was a nice end to a glorious era.
I have one beef joint left from then which I am kinda clinging to as it is the last of my little hoard.
It was horrifying to see how little was in the basket for £20 each time :A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
