That's good news, Hoof Hearted. Hope it all goes smoothly for you. Are you having to post or just scan important documents to the conveyancer? (If you've got that far yet). Am still tempted to use one myself, when the time comes.
We are still using Housenetwork and are very happy with the service so far. Our conversion isn't quite finished but I'm confident that once it is, we'll sell with them. We have a viewing this week and another possibly next week. We also have someone wanting to come back to view once the work is finished, so we're happy.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed, but I'm going to add my affiliate code on here, it's: EXCKKYJOHS - this gives 5% discount to anyone wanting to use Housenetwork themselves. If I'm not allowed to post this on here, apologies and please remove it. I've had a couple of messages requesting it, so thought it easier to add it here.0 -
It has gone well. Buyer has completed survey & mortgage valuation. We are hoping to exchange soon.
The conveyancer has been excellent so far. Most documents have been posted. I do have to say that if I query anything they come back within the hour. If it continues to go well, PM me when you have sold and I'll let you know the name and whether it has continued in the same way. We are not in a rush to complete so haven't been pushing them, but buyer wants to exchange as soon as possible.
I used a HouseNetwork discount code -- no problem.Je suis sabot...0 -
We complete today with a property which has been sold through House Network.
I will definetly be using them again, although there are cheaper online estate agents, they are the biggest with excellent customer service.
To view all the online estate agents have a look at http://www.cheapmove.co.uk/online-estate-agent-comparison0 -
I wonder why Rightmove does not allow ads from sellers directly.
I also don't see a point why Estage Agents are necessary. People look for houses online 99% of the time. It is much better to speak directly with seller/buyer cutting the middle men.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
I wonder why Rightmove does not allow ads from sellers directly.
Why don't you ask them, or look at the FAQ on their website..... ?
Aw, why not - I'll live up to my username and save you the trouble.....

This is from WikipediaRightmove makes money from listing estate agents on its website. Individuals selling property privately (i.e. directly without an agent) are prohibited from advertising on the site.
The FAQ on RM site is !!!!!!.You will be responsible for:- Setting the price
- Marketing
- Arranging viewings
- Negotiating the offers
- Progressing the sale through solicitors and conveyancers
Anyone can do this! EAs are not really required for doing these tasks. Only conveyance/solicitor is required.
Also from RM FAQBesides, selling on your own can be expensive and time consuming
How? As if EAs are very cheap!Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
I wonder why Rightmove does not allow ads from sellers directly.
Because Rightmove was set up by the estate agent industry in order to protect the estate agent industry. If they allowed the public to list their own houses, the game would be up.
Their official line, of course, is that it's to ensure compliance with misdescription legislation, but that's a load of guff - since when has Ebay or Gumtree been held legally liable for a vendor's description?0 -
movilogo, you're selectively quoting, and missing out the salient point from the same page -
"Rightmove does not accept property advertisements from private sellers or private landlords. All the property featured on our site must comply with the requirements of the Property Misdescriptions Act 1991."0
