Second phone on voda /credit check?

Interesting, as an existing customer eligible for upgrade, I pre-ordered an Iphone 4s last week and thought it rather strange that I was setup with a new account. Instead of linking the accounts they set up a new number that I don't want. When I phoned them to ask to transfer my old number to the new contract (or at least retain my original number), they cancelled my old number and retained the new one (after they told me it was a simple process to change them over)
I've spent 3 hours over the last two days to "Customer Services" trying to get them to sort it out, I've been given so many different solutions, had to tell the story to 5 different people during each call and get transferred every time to a different department and still no closer to a resolution. There seems to be a complete lack of accoutability.

I went with tmobile in the end because Vodafone somehow had my date of birth wrong on there system and can't put the order through until I go to a shop with my passport.
I don't have time to do this for a few weeks so decided to go with tmobile for the 4s.
Can't blame Voda for needing I'd,it's just I don't have the time.0 -

I know it may be confusing but when you are placing a pre-order as it asks for the same information for existing customers as it does for new customers.
Once the order processes, it will recongnise your existing account and link the order to that without doing an additional credit check. It will simply check the original credit check results.
