Help with excessive body odour :(

Before I start, I do plan on seeing my doctor about this, as its gotten too bad
But I need some help til its under control.
I am 31, and I'm currently suffering from excessive body odour
I'm beginning to find it very hard to manage-anti-persperants don't stop me sweating, and deoderants don't cover it (and I find it smells worse if dowsed with scent). I wash regularly (daily), and I still smell. Today I even had a strip wash during my lunch hour, and I'm sitting here stinking now. I didn't use to be like this- I could go without showering for a couple of days with no smells if I needed to.
Within hours the underarms of my tops are wet/sticky with sweat and sweated off deoderant. Under my boobs and in my cleavage is always wet (I blot regularly). I sometimes have to wash myclothes several times to remove the stains under the sleeves. At the end of a day, my underarms smell like the bottom of a litter tray (no exaggeration, I smell NASTY:eek:)
I have lost quite a bit of weight recently, and am still going down. I was a sze 16/18, and am now down to a nice 14. I am not doint vigerous excercise however-nothing to get sweaty at all.
Currently I use Nivea Pearl roll-on anti-persperant, and Impulse body spray.
Is there some wonder product I'm not aware of? I prefer to use roll-ons or sticks if possible, but I'm ready to try almost anything right now!
Can anyone suggest anything, I'm sure my lovely collegues are suffering in silence!

The best one is Mitchum For Women Waterlily Deodorant 200ml
Hope this helps
oh just to add the roll on isn't as effective so she has kept to buying the spray. even i use it from time to time it's lovely0 -
Try Sanex roll on deodrant I have used it for over eight years its fantastic - but also are you making sure it dries in before you dress?
might be a certain type of material making you sweat more?
good luck0 -
Thats good to know- I've used the old Mitchum roll-on before (no scent), and didn't find it lived up to its claims. I've found other sprays haven't worked sowell on me-hence preferring roll-on products, but if she finds the spray better, it might be worth a try
Thank you!

Didn't know Sanex made a deoderant, I've always associated it with old lady baths (only because its what my grandmother used though!).
I do wear tight fitting t-shirts during the day. They are cotton and lycra mainly. I do,occasionally wear a blouse or loose polo shirt, and I don't otice any difference to my personal smell level, though of course the tops don't get to heavily stained as they aren't in such close contact with the sticky areas.
I do let it dry, and don't pile on too much either as I found it took too long to dry if I used a lot. I've used Nivea for years too, and til this problem started (gotten worse over the past 6 months) I was very happy with it-nice scent and worked well. Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! First of all, smell is caused by bacteria feeding on the sweat so ideally you need to use an antibacterial shower gel or soap - regular soaps won't do a thing.
Secondly, you need to try a stronger anti perspirant. Mitchum
is probably the strongest "normal" roll on and they come in female appropriate scents as well as "man smells". Stronger ones are available in chemists.
Impulse body spray does nothing. It is just a can of smelly air that disperses into the atmosphere and does nothing to improve personal hygiene.0 -

LOL!!!! well I sometimes buy the bubble bath too - I think your grandmother is trendy! hehe
Its a quid just now at tesco might be worth a try.. are you just having more sweat or is there is a change in things like your totm? do you take a contraceptive pill that might of caused this - I know this can work fine then all of a sudden your body can change and give out a reaction to them with some people.0 -
I realise thats the reason behind the smells, but never having had a problemwith it before, I cannot fathom why its suddenly started now. Thats a matter for my doctor though, I know-no medical advice allowed
Impulse is a bit more than smelly air, not a hygiene aid I know, but it does act like a perfume does but applying a scent to the skin. In the past this has been sufficient to keep me smelling nice with the aid of an anti-persperant. No loner sadly
I will try the Mitchum, and Sanex if I find it, plus anything else suggested. This needs to be controlled. Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! Sorry!0 -
I would see your GP and get yourself referred to a specialist.
A friend suffered from excessive perspiration, so much so that it interfered with her life and her relationships both at home and at work. The treatment involved a course of injections into the sweat glands in the most troublesome areas. It was all done on the NHS. She now perspires normally rather than excessively.
Get it looked at and good luck!0 -
Hello,
I suffered from the same problem and what really helped was an anti perspirant called anhydrol forte. I must warn you, this stuff is very strong and can cause irritation of the skin if you use too much as it blocks the sweat glands and is made from methylated spirit I think . You put it on at night and shower it off in the morning and can use it for other parts of the body such as hands and feet. I used to use it twice a week but now can make do with using it once a week and just having spraying myself once in the morning, was a god send in the summer. It costs around £4 to £6, depending on where you buy it, I bought it from chemist direct or pharmacy first (ie. online pharmacy).0 -

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 9 months ago, but I've been having symptoms of that for 4 years now. The only medicines that I take are the very occasional spoonful of childrens paracetamol syrup if I have a headache-I have a phobia of taking tabletsTo be honest, I don't thnk I'm sweating more, as such, more that its coming through my anti-persperant where it didn't before. I suppose because it coming through I am actually sweating more, but nomore than I would normallyif I wore none (not sure that makes any sense at all!)

Thanks, I will see my GP asap, the rate at which I became smelly agai after washing today was just rediculous, there is no way I can keep it at bay alone at this rate, I do need proper help.
I have heard of the injections, I think they are botox aren't they? I can't see that I'd be bad enough for that, but its good to know there is NHS help if it does progess to that stage, thank you.London_baby wrote: »Hello,
