Ring your local colleges and ask then. They will advise you whether it is possible in your area. I guess it partly depends on the examination board. Or phone AQA (for example) and see what they say and where you can sit their exams maybe.
Certainly I know someone who did IGCSE maths exam - purely exam, no coursework - at their local college three years ago without attending the course, just taking two exam papers having studied with a tutor).
Can't remember if anyne has said this, but BBC bitesize looks quite good for revision.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Yeah bitesize is good.0 -
I'm fairly sure that there is an International GCSE board which doesn't require coursework, just an exam. It's what British students living abroad take, and also home educated students.0

my daughter did start a course for English, she had to do a speaking section which would get marked by the tutor which she was unable to do and was told without it she would not pass even though she was getting A in the essays etc. so if it is the same exam then yes you would have to attend to do that part.2013

All the information you need will be on here http://web.aqa.org.uk/admin/p_private.php
I would never use ICS or other companies like them. They are basically charging you a fortune for acting as the go between on the above. I think you even have to sort your own exam centre out and pay extra with them too.0 -

yeah there is, but isn't that 10 x more difficult than GCSE? could I not just take coursework element at home on my own pc? I did all the coursework in school on school pc so no different doing it at home really if they explained what it was I needed to do.0 -

ICS are supposed to be really good I heard.0 -
I think the International GCSE is the only one you can take with self study. It may be slightly more difficult than a conventional GCSE, but since you are planning to go on to study for a nursing degree, it should be within your capabilities. A nursing degree will be MUCH more difficult than the IGCE!BrettMorganxD wrote: »yeah there is, but isn't that 10 x more difficult than GCSE? could I not just take coursework element at home on my own pc? So to clarify, I will be able to study an IGCSE MYSELF at home and sit the three hour exam and receive a GCSE grade for it? with no coursework or speaking and listening etc0 -
