  • Crikey... I've been saying November... although haven't felt cold yet so I might make it!

One of the reasons my username is COLDcazzie is because I'm always bloody cold! :D

I haven't left the house today, so no worries :D tomorrow should be interesting though - field trip out with the kids and a "picnic" which may or may not be outside. Weather says it shouldn't rain, so that's good :)

Got our new TC award in the post this morning, after informing them of manwife's wage rise. Next year we'll not be eligible for WTC, an our CTC will go down by about £60-65 pcm. With the personal tax allowance increase to £9205 from April 2013 we'll have about £20 pcm extra, which means that overall we'll be £40-45pcm down from next April :(

Hi Caz, get a flour sieve and don't tell anyone about the weevils. I did some research when I found some and discovered that they are in ALL flour unless it has been the flour equivalent of pasteurised - that's why people used to sieve their flour before use!

The presence of weevils just indicates the flour is a bit old, so it may be a little stale (not sure what the implications of that are!) and they don't carry any diseases or nasties!

All is not lost if you have a strong stomach and can keep it secret from the rest of the family!

  • Thanks Sepa, just hijacking Caz's diary, I never knew that before. Will be sieving in future

  • Bit late now, the bags are in the bin and the bin is on the road for the bin men to take at the crack of bird fart ;) but thank you I shall remember that for the future. (I hate sieving flour!)

Picnic all made apart from sandwiches and filling the water bottles up. Should be good tomorrow :D

Had a lovely day yesterday :) although was shattered by the end of it! Kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves racing about with the others outside, and pretending to shoot bows and arrows out of the arrow slits/get stuck down the privvy etc etc lol. Must confess I did have to buy us hot drinks in the cafe as we all got cold by about mid-afternoon (2 hot chocolates - 1 for me and 1 for the kids to share!) and bought them each a little £2-3 something from the castle gift shop. Got manwife a little Christmas present too ;)

Today we are recovering. I've filled in some forms, filed a bunch of paperwork, and put some more things up for sale.

Went on call today for client #1 :D probably a good job, reckon it won't be long.... ;)

Payday at the end of the week. Very much needed. Had to reduce our savings this month due to major money hemorrhage :( residual effect of holiday... fleh.
