    I thought i had it then.. downloaded the software and installed and downloaded Mbam again, updated and run a scan, I thought my luck had changed becasue it got to 50% (where on my desktop it only gets to 2 or 3 %) before the malware stopped it in its tracks and shut it down.

    It appears that the malware is uninstalling mbam after it shuts it down..

    download process explorer (bit like task manager but more advanced ) find the virus (in the processes (usually 3 letters.exe and right click it will give you the location of the file) kill the process and then delete the virus restart your pc and it should have got rid of it
