Weekly Spend Challenge w/c 25th September 2011

Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Yellow - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

Hi guys
Apologies, should have had this up yesterday but no internet at home again - yet another power cut made the router go doolally again!!
I'm pledging £40 this week - I've basically got £10 and change until Friday when I get paid, so likely to spend some on Friday hence slightly higher pledge.
Good luck and have a great week!

Hi everyone
Thanks for updates, I've included on the first post. Welcome FurryBabies!
I made money today! Tesco had various veggies on for 50p so I took full advantage - 4 jackets for 50p, bag of Chantenay carrots for 50p, 4 salad tomatoes for 50p, cauliflower for 50p.
Got to self service checkout and noticed my carrots went through at 72p!!! Obviously they hadn't updated the tills. Called the girl over and she corrected it. Got home and found... shock horror... that my cauli went through at 84p!!!
So today at lunch time I walked over just to get my 34p refund, and forgot about double the difference, so got 68p back! Bargain! :T
Update:
Sun 25 Sep: NSD
Mon 26 Sep: Tesco Shop - £7.29
Tue 27 Sep: Refund from Tesco - £0.68 (and NSD)
Total so far: £6.61

Hey please can I join?
Can I ask though does spending money that was given to you as say a birthday present count? And also does say a driving lesson count? xMoney Wasting Expert

Hello everyone!
Welcome to the newbies!
And hello again princess_shopoholic - I just saw you on the NSD thread and said hello to you there as well!Feel free to count whatever you want in you Weekly Spend Challege budget; there are no hard and fast rules - everyone does it slightly differently - personally, I count everything that involves handing over my card or cash, but I don't count domestic bills (water, gas, electricity, phone, tv etc.) which are set up via direct debit.
As originally posted by Moozie (the founder of this challenge) and quoted by LC in the 1st post
