    Hi all

Welcome princess_shopoholic - good luck with your first week on the challenge. And for your marathon, rather you than me! :D

Thanks for your pledge chris81418, it's been a while since I've been green too, need to get back in the zone!!!

karen is trying - it could be worse, you've still got over a tenner left and only 3 days including today so I'm sure you'll be fine!

What are seeing at the cinema pointypenguin? I always have ice cream at the cinema too...yumyum ;)

Well done for finding us freshair - it's good that you're finding things that should be in your budget so you can rectify - exactly the point of threads like this!

I didn't have my planned NSD yesterday in the end as went for a drink after work with my friend but he paid and i gave him the change in my purse towards it :D Also bought ten cigs. Today and Thursday will have to be NSDs as I have exactly no money! But have a few cigs and rollie stuff, and plenty of food and I'm off work tomorrow anyway. Then payday Friday, yay! :j

Hi everyone and welcome Kellylouise88 - yes I keep everything I spend recorded in a super duper spreadsheet I made :) very important to do it on the day if you can otherwise you do end up forgetting to put things in!

Are you all having a nice thursday? I have a day off in Lieu for a Sunday I worked a while ago, and so far, even though I didn't get much of a lie in so have been up since before 7, I've had a lovely day thinking about money and budgets and planning for next month when I get paid tomorrow. It's just so nice to do "nothing" although actually I'm working hard on my spreadsheets, working out the first weeks shopping and meal plan etc.

yesterday was NSD for me and today is as well, then pay day tomorrow. Later this afternoon I'm going to see my friend as she only works Mondays and Fridays as child under two, and we're going to take her daughter to the park, it's free, it's lovely and I'm looking forward to it.

  • Evening all

LC I went to see Fright Night on Tuesday and One Day last night. Both were good. One day wasn't as good as the book but that is to be expected. Glad you are enjoying your day off.

    Anyway spends:
    • £1.50 on 3D film at cinema
    • £3.50 on ice cream at cinema
    • £15 in dinner at pizza express
    • £7 on coffee, soup etc at work
    • £5 at poundshop on snacks etc.
Total £33.50 / £31.50 so I am red already by not by too much. Dinner was a bit more than expected as we had coffee and dessert.

Only spends tomorrow should be £1 on dressdown day at work and anything extra for lunch or coffee at work. Should be under £40 which isn't too bad.
    Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

I so want to see Fright Night!! One Day...not so much - looked like it was going to be sad (I haven't read the book) and so put me off, then a friend told me what happens and I'm glad I didn't see it. :o

I just know today's going to be gross - I've been awake since 0330 and have to get up at six so there's no point having half an hour of sleep now, I'll feel worse. TGIF huh! It's no surprise - I've not been sleeping well for ages but I've always managed to get my head back down after my middle-of-the-night wake up, not so much tonight I guess!

Still, I've checked my online banking, and I've been paid and so checked my budgets, and paid my phone bill and done my Tesco Wine order and read a lot of a blog called "And then She Saved" which was entertaining. And looked on Old Style for more meal ideas and found some and updated my spreadsheets... again, and my hard copy in my FiloFax (which is literally bank account activity whereas spreadsheets are budgets). And I'm tired...I might sleep for half an hour... seems pointless though.

Either way, have a great Friday everyone - I'll soooooo be in a bad mood all day. Definitely Starbucks day (they gave me a free one the other day, ha!)

Gah! I'm struggling!!!!! Only 4 hours to go... not that I'm counting :rotfl: soooooo tired :D

Just had good news - I'm doing 3 hours overtime every evening next week... AND GETTING PAID FOR IT!!! Those of you who are familiar with my posts know that I often work long hours as I have a huge and frankly unmanagable workload at the moment. However as a one off limited time only we were offered this paid overtime to try and catch up, so that's 12 hours extra pay I can expect, hopefully next month!!! Woo hoo!!! Off to get my calculator out!

Been spendy today, but who cares, it's payday, it's budgeted for and it could be a lot worse  Going to do my food shopping after work tonight as have no other plans (may change but I doubt it!) - luckily I used my time productively when I was awake at stupid o clock and have my shopping list at the ready based on my meal plan I created! Ha! I'm soooooooo moneysupermar.... I mean, moneysavingexpert....... :D:D:D
