I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic.
No one has forced you to have two kids so you should stop bringing them into it. Are you not already on benefits? You just need to live in the real world where you will not be making £1000 per week when you start up just because someone down the road told you that you would be.
Starting a business takes time to develop, it's not an instant cash cow.
As for the business bank account, you will have to have this unless you want HMRC going through all your personal account details. It will also make your life a lot easier and give you a professional look.
I receive tax credits to pay for my nursery fees which lets me work in which I pay tax so its not as if im sitting on my bum doing nothing expecting everyone else to pay for my family. I still pay out over £100 in fees and I only earn £232 a week so that is why I am losing money aswell as other expenses.
Part time work is my way forward, my daughter still goes to nursery and I dont have to put my son in wrap around care. I can then use the hours I have spare to promote my business and still earn a wage.
I will be going to my bank on saturday to open a business account with them. I dont really want to be mixing up money when I do start out nor do I want to be spending it so I will be putting in a separate acc.0 -
Unfortunately, that's exactly what you will be up against.
I know I will be,but most of these people are unqualified and think "doing nails" for £10 a shot are easy untill they ruin peoples nails and then the customers wont return.
I know I am going to have alot of this happening but it happens with everything, there is always going to be someone cheapening services to make a quick buck but hopefully my whole range of services and the level of my services will show future clients I am professional.0 -
My worry with what you're saying about needing to speculate etc is that if you don't have the money to pay the rent, how are you paying for eg the t-shirts advertising your business, where is it coming from? It really isn't sensible to not pay the rent, even if you're in a HA house.
Also when you are on a variable income (as you will be), your HB, CT and Tax Credit claims can get REALLY complicated - you owe them money, they owe you money, they pay you more then claw it back: you just need to be aware of that!
Also do take note of what Horace says, she is someone with the t-shirt!Signature removed for peace of mind0
