hi.....the weather here has been lovely today....really warm....we had a fun tea of hm kfc style chicken....i cut it up in the portions u get in there sprinkled with cajun seasoning and roasted it....no frying invloved....we had chips and saad with it....total cost about £4.50 as the chicken was reduced....a kfc would have cost a lot more for 4 people and my chicken was free range

i am going to make some bubble and squeak for tomorrow and have it for lunch with bacon and brown sauce....yum yum

Ive spent up to my budget this month so far and truly have loads of food! I ended up cancelling my Asda order as Ive popped in Mr T and Farmfoods the last couple of weeks and that may be a trend as it is near the hospital I have to visit weekly. I really must run down my freezer to make room for a Xmas turkey! I also did not use my Coop till spit as Coop are more expensive than the shops I was in this week so I don't think I lost out. I hate seeing the waste of recent weeks though and one good job the recycling bins for food are doing is showing us all what we have thrown away! We are all needing to tighten our belts now as Ive given up my part-time job as its just too much chasing around for me with hubbys hospital visits and honestly the job was driving me mad also! So we will be rather skint but it is all well planned so Im not worried about it-just making sure that in fiuture we don't buy unecessary "stuff" and don't waste. I had a NSD today foodwise but otherwise an expensive week after we had to replace our phones(got good value on internet tho-forget argos)and had to replace smoke alarms which were faulty. We also had to have the central heating serviced but these things are a must and cannot be skimped on! I did make a tenner on ebay so thats something-now I must make sure Im not tempted to spend my earnings from my Avon round!
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults
  • I am so annoyed, had a fab post all typed up and then the internet connection went down:mad:.

I seem to be doing ok with my £300 challenge so far with £198 of £300 spent but have realised my month is nearer to 5wks, so still 2 left to go. Off to aldi for a top up shop in the morning, mainly for butty stuff for the kids and F&V +one of their special buys is a lava lamp which my brother said weeks ago he would like for christmas. will add that into the budget and still hope to be in at £30 for the week and £30 for the following week which would still see me £40 under budget for the month:beer:.

DH may finally be getting on board...maybe...he has suggested that we cut the food bill even further and when I said maybe £50 a wk he said no, make it £30. Now I'm forever the optimist and always up for a challenge, but that would include food and bedding etc. for 2 rabbits, 1 cat and 1 dog, food, toiletries, cleaning stuff, loo rolls, washing powder etc for 2 adults and 2 kids. looks like i'm going to be budgeting, meal planning and bargain hunting to the extreme next month.

  • Had a sainsburys order delivered yesterday as i had a free delivery code and a voucher for £12 off £60 spend, managed to spend £62.84, stocked up on loads of toothpaste and toothbrushes and a couple of xmas presents as well.
  • I went to sainsburys yesterday and spent £44.75. I actually got quite a bit for that, so was pleased. I am still going to have to buy more. I have updated signature already.

Managed to keep to my nsd on Friday, but spent £46.12 yesterday on milk, fruit, yogurt, cartons of juice and spoiling dgs.
Today will be a nsd as there is nothing I need and oh is having a bad day, so cannot leave him.

DS2's birthday on Tuesday, so will need to spend for that and then hospital with DS2 on Wednesday, so will have a small spend then, tea on Wednesday will just be l/o's from Tuesday.

  • Hi all done my weekly shop yesterday at Mr M and lidl and home bargs. Spent £35 in total and another £4.50 in m and s today on the Xmas on-line voucher offer. Brings my monthly total to £215.10 so only £85 left for rest of the month.
Got the new kitten to feed now as well so back up to 3 cats now and all their food is included in my budget. Think ill come into budget OK this month my 3 kids are off to Blackpool for the half term week so no need to feed them that week. I'm hoping to use up my freezer this week so I can defrost it over next weekend. Gunna do next weekends shop at M&S as have a special discount voucher which will give 30% off so if I choose wisely will make it comparable with my normal weekly shop. I often think m&s is now becoming more comparable if you choose things on offer and I always think the quality is better on the majority of things. I particularly like the Xmas stollen cakes and I will defo treat myself to them next week. If I don't spend anything between now and next Saturday Ill use all the remaining budget in M&S. This will be a reward for having some frugal weeks and making the use of MOCs and glitches.

had a few bits and bobs spent here and there so my total so far spent this month is £157.15, leaving me with £67.85 so its a bit tight but might just make it, as my freezer has plenty of meat in it, we have potatoes from the garden and I have enough ingredients for cake making so that will keep the kids happy! :D
    mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊
