Spent 50p today on a candle from the CS. Didn't make the quiche after all. Instead I made cheesy pasta for tea and incorporated the chopped leftover ham into that. Enough leftover for lunch tomorrow so we won't need to do the meal on the menu plan so that will save a bit. May need milk tomorrow as I used a pint up in the cheese sauce but will put the breadmaker on so shouldn't need anything else. I am pleased how things are going so far but early days yet so mustn't get too cocky. :D
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.
  • Well Monday was another NSD for me!Did egg and chips tonight for DS but I actually made my own chips and he loved them. Leftover rice for DH with turkey burgers and fresh toms-he is a bit funny what he can eat and what he will eat. If I go to Iceland I can get 2 loaves of Kingsmill for £1.70 and 3 bottles of milk for £3 so a nice cheap spend which will last another 3 days hopefully. When DD cooks she cooks too much so Im annoyed that we have had some wasted HM wedges and also choc puddings and custard-there really is only sooooo much we can eat! The waste cannot continue so I think I need to put up some notices in the kitchen about only cooking what is needed.
Hoping to find a 25kg bag of spuds somewhere as we seem to get through a lot of them lately and we are always running out. They will likely be only half the price of the smaller bags too!

I made a tesco order but cancelled it at the last minute. Fickle, I know, but I've decided to hold out buying anything until after the weekend. So this is my 4th NSD, but I am really craving some cereal and I have none because it's too expensive!

Joining the grocery challenge again as we failed miserably last month...!

Still aiming for £240 for the month, and so far I've spent £50.20 on the weekly shop at the supermarket (Saturday) with a meal plan for the whole week.

    We'll see!

Had the chance to nip to factory foods today and came home with a huge stock up shop for the freezer among other things.

Sorry to bore you with a long list, but i got the following:

2x 1.5kg thai chicken parcels, 10x 600g chump pork chops, 5x 700g white fish steaks, 1kg dominoes bacon pieces, 1kg coconut king prawns, 8x pasta cheese pies, 12x yogurt and lemon cornetto's, 3x 450g mussels in garlic sauce, 1x family sized salmon lasagna, 4x portions faggots in gravy, 2x 4 packs of country bakes, 5 packs pork meatballs, 2x 16 crabsticks, 1x 8pack of burgers, 18 fishfingers and 2 big salami pizza's.

All of the above came to a grand total of £20:T.
Bit of a bargain and my freezers are now well and truly stuffed.

Spent a further £21.40 stocking up on pop, sweets, crisps, cereal bars, soap, cleaning detergents, veg, salad cream and dressings etc.

If anyone lives anywhere near Maltby i do recommend a visit this week they have a great 10 items for a fiver deal on frozen stuff.

Here's to stopping away from all shops for a week, though i think i will only need milk now to see me through till another fresh stuff shop next week.
