It is the last day of the month for us and i plan on going nowhere so I'm declaring at £265.07 of £340, which is amazing considering a couple of months ago I would think nothing of spending over £400 a month. Right off to the November thread to set the budget for next month.

My target was £300 but just added up receipts and it comes to £291.13! Plus I have a pretty full freezer and larder cupboard - could have done it cheaper! :j This is a £60 saving from last month. :T

Declaring at £320.72:o. This does include however half a case of wine which hasn't been drunk yet and should last us until christmas, do I sound too hard trying to justify the overspend!

Well November is another month and I am finding weekly planning and shopping works best for me.

    Well done everybody:T

I didn't set a budget for October - only that I wanted to spend as little as possible. I have just crunched the numbers and final totals currently stand at £686.61  You can probably add another £8 odd on to this for 4 cans of beer and a bag of oven chips! (OH bought - no receipt asked for).

I don't recall any shop where I asked for or was offered cash back so some serious food spending has gone on somewhere? I know £15 was phone credit but thats merely a drop in the ocean.

I'm shocked at how much the final total is because when i was visiting the shop almost daily and buying just what I needed, no extras, I thought i was doing well.

I'm really going to try hard and limit my visit to the supermarket in November to just once a week when I buy only what is needed for that week. There also won't be the spends on the veg pots that I bought lots of this month. Ok they were on offer (half price) but at nearly £2 a pop, it soon adds up.

I need to meal plan now because this month has been a bad month but I am well stocked of certain things so should save money here in November.
  • Ooh Flat Eric, I don't mean this in a nasty way but reading your total for the month has made me feel a bit better! Although, we are both spending far more than we want to and certainly, in my case, far more than I can afford. Sending you positive vibes for November spends. Maybe this'll be our month when we come within target!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Did quite well over the weekend. Spent £1.99 on a bottle of cola (daylight robbery I think!) for an unexpected visit from my two young SILs, however MIL brought a supply of cold meats and rolls for all our lunches so saved that way. Yesterday morning DH was craving Warbies Toast so another £1.49 down (daylight robbery again!) He also bought two bottles of wine on Sat eve for £9.90. He is a bad influence on my shopping budget ;)
