  • Thanks for the support Bonn & Briz :), it's such an uphill battle when the interest keeps knocking you back :(, but we're all going through it I know.

I'm tired this evening and will be heading to bed in a mo, but given my disappointment with current debt-busting progress, I'm going to set myself a mini target of getting the target card below £700 by next statement date. This will require that I make payments of at least £86 to allow for the interest that will be applied, but to make it a stretch I'm going to set the target at £100.

I'm going to track this in all my posts till next statement date (24/4) like this:

    CC Mini target to 24/4 - £0.00/£100.00
    'See' you folks tomorrow...

  • I haven't posted for a few days as I'm just basically in limbo waiting for payday to arrive :(. Roll on Friday.

I've pretty much avoided spending up until today, but now it's all gone pear shaped :o. Things are carp in work and I'm miserable, so just been to B00ts and spent about £15 . It's nothing extravagant, just face wash, spot cream (have a mega breakout, think it must be the stress :() a drink and...chocolate...I'm supposed to be dieting :naughty:.

No real news to report, just felt like a moan :o!

  • Well it was payday yesterday and a shiny new month of debt busting has started :j

I've just made the minimum (£22) and an overpayment (£3) to the target card, so first payment of the month of £25 :). Planning to do lots more overpayments to the target card this month ;).

I'm having a lovely lazy morning, just surfing the diaries, looking for inspiration, but at some point I'm going to have to make the effort to drag myself off the sofa and have a shower :o. Things in mind for today/tomorrow are:

    C0stco shop this afternoon
Peruse April budget s/sheet looking for more areas to trim ;)
    Prep mealplan for next week
Frugal 4sda shop based on mealplan
    Check cash spends
Decide what to buy from SP

DD will be home from Uni this evening for a whole month :j:j, so we're going to treat ourselves to a chinese, so looking forward to that.

Hope you're all enjoying your weekends :).

Didn't get to C0stco this afternoon, but have been to 4sda. I've spent £73, but that includes some offers I've bulk bought, so will be used later in the month.

When I got back home, noticed that I'd been overcharged for bananas - they had YS bags at 10p, some of them are quite bruised, but for 10p I thought I'd take a chance, but I've been charged by weight making them 80p :(. I've tried ringing the store, but there's no answer so will have to try again tomorrow.

Also annoyed that the offer on the 22-pack of crisps seems to have ended so I've been charged full for 2 x 22 packs...nearly £9 . I think I'll take these back as I wouldn't normally spend that much on crisps in one go.

Quick update just to report spends:

    £2.44 - Sainsbugs, various groceries
40p - to SP for drink
    £2.84 Total

Cash in hand = £18.44, of which £5 is for DD2 for lunch money, bringing it down to £13.44 in hand to last til Thursday.

I've just paid an extra £5 to the target card :), bringing my mini challenge to:

    CC Mini target to 24/4 - £30.00/£100.00

Also just claimed my £5 voucher from 4sda from the promo for £5 off a £40 shop :).

Thanks for dropping by Choclover (love the name!), hope I don't bore you to death :o!

Update on the banana overcharge :p - took the bananas and receipt back to 4sda and I was given my full 80p back, so they ended up being free. The SA thought that was it, but I asked where my £2 voucher was as per the overcharge policy, "oh" says the SA, "so you want that too? You've already got the bananas for nothing."!!! Needless to say I was not best pleased, but she did give me the £2 voucher. I really don't understand SAs, if the policy is a £2 voucher, what business is it of theirs to do something else and leave the customer feeling less than pleased?

    Happy Easter everyone! :icotbaske

In MSE fashion, we haven't gone overboard with eggs, each of the 'children' :p have two eggs (the T3sc0 offer of 3 for £2.50 :)) from us. Not sure if there'll be more from their grandparents, but no biggie if not.

It's not been a good week money-wise. My laptop died earlier in the week and we couldn't revive it :(, so I've now got a new-second-hand lappie, which was £120...all unplanned , and then yesterday the kettle stopped working :(. Luckily I had a couple of vouchers for 4sda, so I only spent £8 replacing it :).

I haven't been able to check my spreadsheet since getting my new lappie as it needs the software put on. I'm waiting on OH to do this for me, although tbh I could probably do this myself. I want to make another payment to the target card, but don't want to do this until I've updated my spreadsheet.
