Thanks Banwa

Well, thanks to the awful weather today, we've had our first NSD of the year
.
I've been busy all day preparing for the return to work tomorrow and have also spent some time decluttering. My bedroom looks much tidier now, although there's still quite a lot to do. I need OH to put some shelves up in the spare room/study so that I can store my books..I love reading and have soooo many of them
Back to the early starts tomorrow, I should really be in bed by now, but am putting it off to delay the inevitable

Thanks WAM, I can assure you it's all a mirage though :rotfl:!
So glad it's Friday, I'm pooped and ready for a lie-in tomorrow morning. Hopefully I won't need to drive the family to their various activities
.
OH is going out this evening (a belated Christmas get-together ). I've basically told him he can have the cash budget for this week apart from the kids' pocket money. So this gives him £50. He'll also need to use this money for any extras he needs for his club this weekend, as there's no more
. I'm not sure how this will pan out next week, guess we'll just have to manage
.
I've got a few things to catch up on this weekend with the finances - there's my list from earlier in the week, plus I need to transfer money to DD1s account as she's back in Uni next week, and make a payment to the target CC (min pmt + £??, not sure how much yet). I'll also need to update my spends since the beginning of January to make sure we're on track.

Hi BC

I hope you get your lie in tomorrow! I should just do what dh does and fall asleep on the couch for an afternoon doze and leave the kids to their own device lol!

Come on Been, where are the spends?
Not that I am nosy or anything...:D
Ha ha, I needed that
.
Feeling a bit sad this afternoon - have just seen DD1 off as she's returned to Uni today (she's working later, so has had to head back early)
.
So your "request" is well-timed Banwa as I need to occupy my time and mind, not sit here wallowing in self-pity
.
Ok, off to update the spreadsheet and then report spends...could be a while

So, here is the update on spends so far:
Budget Actual Balance
Food 435.00 61.22 373.78
Travel 355.00 296.34 58.66
Misc Spends 300.00 120.00 180.00
Clothes 30.00 47.99 -17.99
Food and Misc Spends are doing ok, clothes are overspent, but I already knew about this. Travel is the worrying one. We've bought our monthly train tickets, so getting to work isn't going to be a problem, but the £59 that's left is less than the cost of a tank of fuel. We have nearly a full tank at the moment, so that should last us over a week, then one more fill up and we'll be over budget. The reason is because we've filled DDs car up before she headed back to Uni, and also because we tend to do more driving when we're on leave. Will need to watch this one.
ETA - sorry that table looks totally carp , I've tried to edit it, but on the preview it's ok... *confused*...hope you can make sense of it.Full LBM 26 Sept 110 -
I've just made a payment to the target CC of £25, which includes a £2 overpayment. So that's 25% of the planned total payment for the month
.
My overall budget is looking extremely tight for the rest of the month, in fact, I need an extra £285 to get it to balance. Of this though, £70 is a cheque which has been outstanding for quite a while, so may not clear, £120 relates to DD2s wages paid into my account. She will ask for bits of this as and when she wants it and I will reduce the balance owed to her, and £65 relates to a planned transfer to savings.
There's also £70 in my savings (emergency fund) account.
So, assuming I can juggle all these items, I should be able to at least keep the current account within its limits.
So now it's time to get myself into gear on the money-making front so that I can make the extra payments to the card, and also improve the current account situation...no pressure then :rotfl:.
