Grass Roots will send you an email with assignments available in your area. To accept the assignment you phone a FREEPHONE number, entering the assignment number and the date you can complete it (usually they let you choose from Mon to Fri) If it is still available they tell you there and then that it is yours. It is all automated and reliable.

A few days before the assignment they send you the questionnaire to read through and then on the day you agreed you do the shop.

You come home, complete the assignment on the website (links are all in your brief) and you're home and dry.

If they need proof of purchase, they ask for the reciept numbers etc, but you don't have to scan them or anything.

I find it really easy and never had a problem yet.

I get lots of assignments and guess I am the only person available in my area sometimes. Some weeks I can get none, others upto 4, you never know.

In case there are a few MS's in your area, I would advise you to take the job as soon as you read the email.

Good Luck, and any more questions, please ask.

PS - STAY AWAY FROM NORTH MANCHESTER - THATS MY PATCH :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I've been with grass roots for a year now and had one email recently asking me to invite friends to join, not one job. Anyone had similar problems?

So to clarify you need to answer NO to the first 3 :D The last 2 need to be YES though ;)

    Sorry for the confusion lol

What is the point behind Pizza Hut employing mystery shoppers if they just come here to be given the answers to the surveys by Rachie B?

It would be more moneysaving if they let their managers do the quality control, and reduced their prices by the money saved from not paying the sleuths.

(At least the answers they get would be a little bit more objective)

  they are hardly "surveys" ,just the screening Qs BEFORE you get the assignments !!!!!!

If you have nothing constructive to add to the thread zip it :D
  • Managers don't do constructive reports, they are subjective and too critical usually so because bonus's balance on good scores and they would do anything to damage the competition.

But, I do agree with Quentin about the answers, the screening questions are there to make sure the shopper is of the right profile, the questions are easy, if the shopper is incapable of answering them, maybe they don't fit the profile which gap is looking for, if you were to say, NO I don't like fast food, you will not give a clear, objective, unbiased report will you. This is the point which GAP will block you from the jobs.

Funny how I get singled out when another poster answered the query ,giving the answers too <sigh>

It's not as if I have written an assignment report for the girl or anything jeeeeeeez
  • Errr, I wasn't singling anyone out, I was just commenting about the screening questions being there to seek the correct profile, this doesn't happen when someone else gives the answer, I would give the same answer when someone asks (like they did the other day) for people to fill out a section of the application form, if someone else gives the answers, it does not give a true reflection of the shopper.

it was in reply to Quentin

I would never give "answers" in reply to the application form Qs eg "what makes a good mystery shopper" etc as that is totally down to the applicant.........

But these little screening ones I reeeeeally ,personally don't feel I have done anything wrong :D
  • i have done numerous assignments for them and have not been impressed by two things:

    a) very very stingy - only pay you about £6 for most assignments - which is not enough when you consider - you have to an a pre assignment online orientation (can take up to three quarters of an hour) and a pre assignment test (can take up to three quarters of an hour) - you have to get there (at the exact time they specify) - do the assignment - which can take up to 20 minutes, sometimes spend some money, get home, write the report, scan in the receipt and wait 1 month for payment! and you have to do all that within 8 hours of the assigned time! for £6!!
    .
    .
    .
    .
I would say gapbuster is only a good idea for three groups of people - retired people - homeworkers/housewifes etc - unemployed people

ie -- lots of free time, perhaps if you are quite poor. because i can assure you there are much easier ways of making money.

I agree on the stngy bit and very rarely do assignments for them - they don't pay a petrol allowance either.

Don't agree on the good for housewives. Only good if you are going anyway or want to have a Macdonalds.
