Hiya all not posted in a while but i thought u could be intrested in this,
https://www.xec.gapbuster.com/
Its a mystery shopper site all you do is sign up wait for confirmation ( could take 24 hours ) then u have to complete evaluations for the customer then u can get paid to shop with them these include pizza hut, post office, BP, shell and some others. it takes a while to figure the website ( well for me it tdid ) but if you live in the right area your friday night takeaways could get paid for and earn a little bit extra each month courtesy of gapbuster, also after 2 months of being with them it adds more places like mcdonalds.
hope this is usefull to people

Hi,
I agree this is a good MS site - if you go to the Debt Free Wannabee board there is a whole thread dedicated to MS: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=223762
However, kayleighwright, you need to edit your post as you are breaching your contract with MS by naming companies they MS.

i have done numerous assignments for them and have not been impressed by two things:
a) very very stingy - only pay you about £6 for most assignments - which is not enough when you consider - you have to an a pre assignment online orientation (can take up to three quarters of an hour) and a pre assignment test (can take up to three quarters of an hour) - you have to get there (at the exact time they specify) - do the assignment - which can take up to 20 minutes, sometimes spend some money, get home, write the report, scan in the receipt and wait 1 month for payment! and you have to do all that within 8 hours of the assigned time! for £6!!
b) they wont pay if you get the slightest thing wrong. in mcdonalds the receipt machine was broken so they gave me one that was lying around that had a different meal on it.
i submitted that and i didnt get paid because the meal didnt match to what i was told to order - and when i spoke to someone re it, i was told 'hard luck' ! I had to spend £4 in mcdonalds and didnt get a reimbursement!
I would say gapbuster is only a good idea for three groups of people - retired people - homeworkers/housewifes etc - unemployed people
ie -- lots of free time, perhaps if you are quite poor. because i can assure you there are much easier ways of making money.0 -
maybe i was a little harsh, if earning a bit extra every month is your goal then it could work out for you.
for me, it was loads and loads of effort, for v v little payout.
but it could work out for someone who has spare time and pc with the internet at home.0 -
I couldn't agree with you more...
I've been doing assignments for several mystery shop companies for a couple of years now, and Gapbuster is the worst one that I've ever dealt with.
I did an assignment for them to a pizza chain high street store. Their timeframe stipulated anytime between 4pm and 9pm. At half past seven I went into the restaurant, there was a huge queue for tables and 25 minutes later I sat down. Service was dismally slow all night and the place was a tip. Not my idea of a good night out.
By the time they'd done the starters/table cleared/main/table cleared/received bill and paid, it was seven minutes past nine. An hour and a half is usually plenty of time for a meal, but because the store staff were so slow, Gapbuster refused to pay up for the assignment because they said it was done outside of the timeframe and so it was my hard luck.
Gapbuster have a real attitude problem, not when speaking to them but in the tone of their emails and newsletters - you can nearly always see the phrase nearby "or your assignment will be invalid and you will not be paid".
I've many more stories that I could tell about this company, if you want to hear them p.m. me0 -
I recommend TNS - they have a good easy to use website and the rates of pay and reimbursement amounts are fairer0

I did alot of work for them, and alot of it was never paid, a pizza place one costing me 19 plus traveling, which was about a fiver. I didnt submit it the same day, mainly as I went with a friend and stayed there for the night. They was not happy with this so i was out of pocket.
This happened quite a few times as they do expect you to report the assignment in as soon as its finished.
I did however make quite abit from doing the assignments that i was paid for, but getting any near where i live was impossible.0 -

LOL I am a housewife and I can assure you I do not have lots of free time! Infact I have less time now than I ever did when I worked-thinking about it, I think I went to work for a rest:p
Thanks for the rest of your opinions though, its good to know the flip side...seems a bit too much of them to ask for me considering what you get.

there are definitely better MS companies out there that Gap ! but I wouldnt say Gap are only for the "poor" ,a free meal is a free meal lol and if you would be eating at these fast food places anyway then its fine.......
it only doesnt work if you have to travel to get to said place as they dont pay mileage
check out the link in littlestars post for more MS companies0
