Morning all,

Was beautiful here earlier, but the sky is now looking very dark over yonder, hope the rain stays off, I have bedding in the wm.

Yesterday we got loads more done in the bathroom (the room that seems to be taking forever :o) we now have a door and a blind :T, the door needs painting which we will do today, and we need to slilcone everywhere and put 3 tiny bits of skirting up, then its just some shelves to go up, we tried to get the wood to do this yesterday, but the builders merchant was shut. Hopefully get finished completly by next weekend :T

Dinner tonight will be chilli and rice, quick dinner as we will be working most of the day.

Yesterday we popped out to a antique valuation thing in the next village, we took one of my mums paintings which we thought might be worth something, turns out it was worth £20 - £30 :rotfl: anyway there was also a stall selling goods for the local hospice, and I got my dd a hand knitted Arun jumper for £5 :T its beautiful and I imagine it must have cost at least that in wool. Have put it up for xmas.

Sistercas well done to your dd xx

Hugs to all those who's 'babies' have gone of to uni xx

Happy Birthday to Little Bitsy and Miss Moorhen xx

monnagran when I trhink of your Vicar I always picture the vicar of Dibley :rotfl:

Forever S, hugs to your dd xx

Havegood days all xx

• Good Morning all,a gorgeous morning here in north Kent ,sun is shining and its set for a mini scortcher this afternoon apparently.I like this time of the year as the trees look grand with all of the colours and although winter will be on its way soon when the sun shines this late in the year its a bonus as it seems to make the winter shorter IYSWIM and hopefully bills smaller :):)
Happy Birthday to those who are celebrating and cheer up your babies will soon be home from Uni telling you all about (well almost all ) what they have been up to.
monagran you don't live near to Northwood do you ?
well done to forever S dd
Well today I am going to make some cakes and cookies as the tins need refilling.I should really go and do a bit of shopping but nothing is that urgent that can't wait until tomorrow. yesterday I did a re-do of my freezer list and the stuff is actually reducing I am hoping to get it right down before Christmas so I can defrost it.I found all sorts of bits in there that I had forgotten about even though they were on my existing list I think I may have a go at the kitchen cupboards as well today to see what in stock and do a bit of rotating and maybe sort a menu out for this week Once I can do that it will probably mean I may not have to shop for a few more days if possible as I'm sure I have enough in there for quite a few more meals.
With Chr***mas looming on the horizon cutting back on stocking up will mean a bit more in the food purse.I made a jelly from one I found in the cupboard yesterday morning and must admit it set but not very well I will stick to my normal jellies in future This one was a 'cheapy' one that I had got from somewhere and wasn't very nice.Still I have the rest of it left in the fridge so maybe by tomorrow it will set a bit more and it will get eaten, but not bought again.
I also found a Greens Lemon meringue pie mix that my DD gave me so I may use that up today and take it with me when I go to DDs this afternoon, the boys will scoff anything virtually.
Well time to get the coffee pot on and the baking bowls out Have a great day whatever you maybe doing
Cheers chums

• LOL ladies Master Bitsy's birthday isn't til Friday next week, today was the only day I could get for his party. Thank you for all the good wishes though I am sure they will keep a week :)

Going to be heading off to the indoor play centre in a mo. Got to pick up cake from my mums house. we both decided that Buzz Lightyears legs are not quite in proportion But my mum wanted to start tweaking it yesterday  I told her no, DS is massively impressed at any rate and that is what matters :D
We are going for something to eat afterwards as tomorrow is my mums birthday. Bro and SIL and kids are coming to party so my dad thought we might as well take advantage of everyone being together.

Not much OS going on :o tipping it down with rain and we had a load of washing to dryly joy.

Ok had better get a move one. hugs and spoons all round x

Morning All,

Haven't posted for a while, life seems to have taken over. My son and his gf have gone back to Australia which was sad but we will hopefully be over there in June next year if all goes to plan.

DD is still here with dgs but she has gone out to a museum with him today and her ex. I don't think things are completely over between them and they both have the best interest of the little one at heart, will just have to wait and see.

Hoping for a nice peaceful day. DH is working on his garden room at the bottom of the garden and hoping to get it finished before the bad weather although its raining today. All my summer clothes are in the loft so it would be s@ds law that its sunny and warm next week.

DH is at the docs on Tuesday, he has a swelling just below his ribcage which is sore and seems to dissappear when he lies down, I suspect a hernia as he does lift heavy weights, anyway he is not a happy bunny as he likes to excercise and cant at the mo:cool:

Dinner today will probably be chicken stirfry as we are all eating and I must resist making cake as we then can't resist eating it:)

Anyway have a good day all, hugs for the poorlies, seem to be lots of colds and coughs around.

Late morning ladies, feel alot better today about ds going off to Uni yesterday. He phoned me just gone 2 this morning to say that he had got back to uni halls safely and was going to bed. Secretly I think he just wanted to hear my voice. ;). Found it hard as could hear his voice wobbling as he spoke. :(. He phoned me again just gone 10 to say he felt lots better after some sleep and that he was cooking lunch for 5 other people today and that they were taking it in turns to provide the evening meal each night. Think he will enjoy doing that, lots of other people arriving there today as well.

Here today is lovely and bright , so have bedding on the line to take advantage of the drying weather, grass cut , ds1 is staining the new fencing that went up earlier in the week after falling down in the winds the other week. Ds3 is at work till half 2 and ds4 is doing some homework, dd txt me earlier to ask if she could spend the afternoon here :j:j.Maybe the start of her return , not going to push her ,let her do it in her own time .

Dinner is Roast Lamb with all the trimmings with cherry crumble and ice cream for afters. Smells lovely.
Right off to catch up on todays thread.Hugs for all:)

• Been to shops, and to tip.

Where I live they don't do the normal council recycling collection (blue bags). We have some recycling bins but only for paper/cans/glass, no plastic or cardboard . But there are none of these bins outside my flat building, so we've been collecting stuff and taking it to tip as it's easier than trekking half of it across car park to bins and taking other half to tip. But when I was at the tip earlier the nice councilman told me they have changed the rules and you can now take the blue bags to the tip, and gave me 2 rolls of bags. This means I don't have to separate all the recycling cos it can all go in one bag, including plastic and cardboard. Much easier to manage. :D Although wierdly you can't put glass in the bags! :rotfl:

F1 just about to start, and it's in Singapore where I'll be stopping off for 2 days on my way home from Oz/NZ in 2 months time. It looks amazing :D

Hugs to those of you 'losing' your babies to Uni, I remember it well! Just when you think you have the house clean and tidy they come home for the holidays!!

Not been the most productive day today - got up about 8.30 but didn't get a shower until about half 11. Went to the bank to get money for the new TV that could be coming any time, A*di for some wool (thanks to the folk on the knitters thread for the help) and then home again.
The weather is very wet so I watched most of The Tourist, only most as I found something to do towards the end, didn't find it that good. Also finished one front side of a baby jacket.

Chicken and wedges for tea, DD will have to have hers heated up as she is still at work - hope she gets home soon as she is to be back there again at 7.

Off to work myself at 7 but a day off school tomorrow as it's a holiday, may go to Glasgow tomorrow with DD for a wander. Hope you have all had a good weekend and the party went well Bitsy, your cake looked fab. Take care. XX
