<18Moved out at 16. Got my first job for £30 a week, and my rent was £30 a week..... tough but happy times!!!0

I bailed out the family home @ 17 as there were too many rows and bad atmosphere.
Also to save travelling to work as had to get up at 5am and leave @ 5.30 am to hitch / bus ride
BUT leaving home so young made it a constant struggle as on teeny-boppers wages and had adult bills to pay.0 -
18-2518 when I went to uni. Don't think that really counts given I was financially dependent and home for all the long holidays.
Never lived at home after uni. Bought my first home a year after uni at 22.
Even though I moved out quite young, I would be more than happy for my kids to live at home rent free until they could afford to properly move out.

18-25I'm still living in my parents basement at 18 as they spent all the money this country ever had and now house prices are too high. There's no easy way I can get my hands on an MTV style home with basketball court for nothing so I'm not moving out. Also I'm too scared mummy won't be there to protect me from the big boys.0

<18Out of home at 16. Went to college in a separate town as the family were all going to move there and my brother was doing his articles there. My father was an alcoholic and forgot to send money, so I battled a bit. Eventually left college before the end of the course, and worked. I think it should have been a happy time (at college), but my childhood was miserable as I never knew what would be happening next.0

Luxury! I had to get up in the morning, at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill and pay mill-owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our dad would kill us and dance about on our graves, singing Hallelujah! There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0 -

Which time:
8 when they sent me to school? 16 when I got myself out of school? 18 when, having bounced back I went to university? After the coma in my early twenties when I moved back for a year? Or weh n ewe bought last year?
After 18 I was/we were a contributor, paying a fair share of bills etc, and contributing to the mortgage (which wasn't their when DH and I moved in with them for a while).
What about when they move out from my house?...I hope its a long time as the one that moves in with me is leaving in a box.0
