These were still £29.99 on a barcode scanner in one of the Leicester Halfords stores. Do Halfords have a nationwide database of prices ?
    Eh up me duck.

Just mention at the till that these are reduced to £1, and anyhow I reckon the till will have the right price, mine did, and surely their POS are linked nationallly.
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)
    Quidco and Topcashback, £4,569
    Shopandscan, £2,840
    Tesco Double The Difference, £2,700
    Thomson EU261/04 Claim, £1,700
    British Airways EU261/04 Claim, EUR1200
  • Thanks OP, bought 2 in Plymouth (Marsh Mills). They had around 5-6 left.

SEL shows them as £7.99 but they scan through at a £1, bargain. Cheapest elsewhere is around £9.99 + P+P online.

My Acer N35 will require a bit of modification to the plastic case to get this to fit, as the cable that connects to the PDA is right angled and the "receptor" for the cable in slighlty inset into the PDA.
  • portal - try the felixstowe store, I got one this morning and they had at least one more...

There was no marked price or SEL on the ones I saw in Halfords Leicester (Freeman's Common). However I took one to the till, and it was scanned at £29.99 . How do I persuade the person on the till that their till is wrong exactly ? How would the manager know what the 'correct' price should be ?

From information in this thread, Halfords do not appear to use a real-time nationwide price database for their goods, that keeps their till prices up to date. How do Halfords update their till prices ?

Was it the Navsure model as per Little John's pics on page 1 of this thread?
The price on the bargain bin which had them in stated Navsure Antenna £7.99.
Maybe the £29.99 ones are TOM Tom originals or something?

I have just finished modding my Acer N35, cutting away a bit of plastic to allow the right angled connector to fit into the unit.

Works a treat indoors, with the flip up built in antenna on my PDA I can lock onto 3 satellites, but with the external antenna just on the window ledge it picks up 5-6.

My N35 was getting annoying as when it was a "heavy cloud" day it would struggle lock onto satellites, taking an age. I'll keep this external antenna as a back up and wip it out on those many "heavy cloud" days that we have :D

Thanks again OP, you have breathed new life into my PDA.
I also changed the battery whilst I had the PDA open, as the original was dead as a parrot.

The ones at £29.99 are the official navman ones, you want the navsure ones like in the pic.
  • Mine was Navsure but the SEL deffo said £29.99, unless they were on the wrong hook.
