How long are you on your work trip? Can you not pack something to pamper yourself in the evening or will you be socialising?

Pampering - not on this trip sadly. Have schedule tighter than Russell Brands trousers! Involves visiting ministry of something ( not funny walks) and a biodiesel factory:eek:. Evenings will be full of getting to know you fun (people from across Europe attending - it's a seminar to share practice) and I have to do a presentation and write a report of the trip while I'm there. Will be exhausted on return!
Joking aside I am glad I'm going really - bit nervous as travelling on own but sure will be really interesting.
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.

    Hello all,

Keep forgetting to post on here :(

    My list:

Completed and submitted essay to OU
Rang my nan using free mins
    Used free texts
    Checked job sites
    Done comps
    Replied to emails
Sorted out make up artist for my wedding :)

    I will:

    Lunch from the house
    Tidy kitchen after cats

    Tomorrow:

    Spend the day with OH

Hope everyone has a good day :)
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T
  • MSE jobs (already done!!) here today:

Get out in the garden to:
    • Tidy up the scruffy tangled mess it's become in the last month when I couldn't see it through the rain
    • Cut the last of the decent flowers - chrysanths, sweet peas, gladioli and bring them in
    • Take the runner beans down, making sure we get the last of the beans off them before taking to the tip
    • Dig up the last of the carrots
    • Rake up this week's windfall apples - just been out and tried one - yup, they're ready now - delicious!!
    • Pick a crop of tomatoes from the greenhouse
    • Find the last of the [STRIKE]spring[/STRIKE]autumn onions hiding in the veg patch, pull them, bring them in and clean them

'Not in the garden' jobs - done:
    • Home-made carrot soup for lunch
    • Sort out the flowers (throw away the vase-corpses from last week!), vegetables and fruit

    Still to do:
    • Make sloe gin - everything's here, I just need to move myself and get it done!
    • Have a bash at making chilli jam, inspired by the thread on that last weeekend, and I have about 7 lbs of chillis on the little plant I picked up at the end of season clearout a couple of weeks ago
    • Turn up the hem on the (very expensive) 'Capri' style trousers I bought but haven't worn because they sit wrong, and just look like I'm wearing trousers that don't quite reach my shoes.:rotfl:

    and, finally, one treat

go out for dinner - it was my birthday last week, and OH left it too late to get into the restaurant we'd fancied - so glad I've got it to look forward to tonight!

she'll be 4 in October. She doesn't do afternoon naps anymore so we've had a quiet afternoon in the house. She's watched DVD's while I've got on with my housework. Early nights all round though I think.

    http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/chilli-jam-2692

is the recipe; I can't remember exactly which thread I picked it up from, but I think it was probably this one:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/852629

Sloe gin now made - just got the hemming and the chilli jam to tackle now - oh, and the 'going out for a nice meal' bit, too! If I get really pushed, I may only do one of those three. Hmmm.... how to prioritise......

    Hi all

Hope everyone's well - been a not very DFWy day as I've been out for breakfast and bought car tax - thankfully still stuffed from breakfast so won't be eating dinner, and car tax only £30! But did sell something on Ebay for £10 so not tooooo bad!

Hope everyone who's ill feels better soon, and hugs to those who need them! Off to check the bank and start writing list for tomorrow - my weekends always go slightly pearshaped when the other half isn't working!!!
