Parking Eye Invoices

As a newbie just wanted to get current thoughts on Parking eye PCNs.
I have received one through the post today with the usual reduced ee for quick payment.
I parked for 2hr 40min in a carpark on a very small retail site in the evening, well after all the shops were closed so when i returned to the car and noticed a sign for maximum stay 1 hour I thought nothing of it.
To pay or not to pay??
Thanks

Very simple answer. Don't pay and ignore them. Job done! What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Ignore them and Ignore all the silly letters full of empty threatsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Pay for what? You would be liable for any fiancial loss to the owner of the car park as a result of your parking. As the shops were closed this would be zilch. Believe me, from personal experience ParkingEye do not do court.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

Just another example of their so called car park management, they claim to free up parking for genuine customers.
Customers for closed retailers?
Like their service areas, one car in a 300 space car park early hours of the morning, invoice for abusing customers parking??0 -
Follow the established pack drill. Ignore, Ignore, Ignore Correspondence only encourages them, It is an invitation to treat, a worm on a fish hook0

Thanks for the advice everyone, to be fair seems one shop was stillopen for a whole 10 minutes when i parked!!! Guess it's time to be brave and ignore!0

hi reader22, i'm a newbie too, don't pay a penny, ignore all the letters, i got no further letters after the third. nothing's happened. don't ring them! don't write to them! don't worry!0

Hello Reader22 - have no worries, I am a ParkingEye veteran!
They are probably the tamest of all. One letter to keeper with initial demand, about 25 days later you'll receive a second and final letter claiming to be the third, and all with the usual empty threats.
The thing to remember is, a landowner can sue for losses resulting from your actions and that is the end. There is no dealing between YOU as registered keeper and ParkingEye, the so-called "parking management". Even if you did drive, do they know?
It hardly matters here because two letters and they pop.0 -
Hello
I've just joined to get some advice. I was ill on the motorway and consequently spent 4 hours 19 mins at a services station being unwell. I got a notice from Parking eye with a £60 fine if I paid by the 28th sept. I appealed and they didnt bother replying just resent the notice again still with 28th date, so I have no time to write gain or I will have to pay £120.
I have read the above but am nervous about ignoring them.
Just need some support please, to ignore them......help please.0 -
Under which grounds do you think you owe them £60 or £120? Do you know about contract law?
Read up on it and then you will discover you don't legally owe them anything.0
