  • Hello everyone

Well, I finally managed to get back online after a very hectic week! I have barely had time to breathe at work this week and although I'm off today, I decided that I would get the house done first before I went near the computer (is it just me that sits down for "a couple of minutes" and gets up two hours later?!).

I now have a lovely sparkly clean house and six loads of washing on the line :D. I'm also in the middle of defrosting the fridge freezer - our new one comes tomorrow and apparently the old one can only be taken away if it's fully defrosted. It's still pouring oily stuff but there's not much I can do about that! I've borrowed cool bags and boxes from various family members and hope they will keep it all frozen.

Not much to report, OS wise today. My younger DSis came over this morning to collect the last of our old baby stuff - she's expecting a baby girl next month and so I've managed to [STRIKE]offload[/STRIKE] make her a lovely gift of all my DDs' baby clothes, moses basket, blankets etc. :T The loft has never looked so empty!

Dinner will either be pasta, or random freezer items if anything starts to defrost!:rotfl:

Have good days all - and big ((hugs)) to anyone in need. I'll try and catch up with the posts over the weekend, so sorry if I have missed anyone's triumphs/disasters.

    I'm getting later again!.

Perfect day here, warm, sunny and, for once, no wind. Still have no washing to put out, what a waste of good weather!
JulieG: How wise you are to try to keep your ex onside. I think a lot of people seem to forget that these access visits are supposed to be for the children's benefit, not the adults. Very difficult to strike a balance with all the various people wanting a bit of your DS but they must realise that you are not just there for the feeding, washing, grotty bits of his life but would like some time for the fun bits as well. Also I would think that your DS is old enough to have some say in where he goes in his leisure time. It's important that he has time for his friends and just hanging around being bored.
Islandmaid: Hope all goes well and you have a terrific time with your Dad and SM.

My thoughts are with Betheebee, I hope the results of her tests aren't too dire.

Foodwise there is some cauliflower cheese left from yesterday which we can have with some Diet Coke chicken - my experiment for today.

  • Hi chums just thought I'd stick my head around the door .Son-in-law had an early finish so I'm actually home before six for a change.I put a big pot of stewing beef on this morning in my SC and my house smells gorgeous .More than enough for dinner tonight and several portions for the freezer.Chucked lots of carrots, onions. peas and mushrooms in as well as a reasonable slurp of red vino and a dollop of lazy garlic.
DGS Henry does his 11+ tomorrow and has been very good the past few weeks in revising. His Dad has given him tonight off and letting him go to the junior youth club which he loves as a treat for working so hard.Tomorrow morning there will be over 300 children from all over Kent sitting in in a local school.Last year it was awful when we took his bigger brother Jack to sit it there were kids in floods of tears and several children actually throwing up poor souls .Luckily the boys are quite sensible and know not to get stressed about it .Henry is a bright lad and he will go to the same school as his brother whatever happens tomorrow .
Well time to go and put some cabbage and mash on to go with my yummy beef
have a good evening everyone and <<hugs>> to those who are in need or want
    Cheers JackieO xx

    Hi everyone

    :hello: newbies

Managing to sneak on via the dongle, while DS & DH have just nipped to pub for a pint and a natter. Most of the communication is done via me, as DH does not use electronic gadgets, so DS just asked if I would mind sitting here amusing myself for half an our or so. DS's GF is still at work, the lads have been working all day, first of all taking the old wood to the tip, and then finishing the adjustments to the floor off, ready for sanding tomorrow.

Been out to Wood Green today to Wilkinsons and Morrisons. They needed a few bits to make the kitchen up and running, so went and got them some, daft little things, like a towel for the kitchen, and more tea towels, and a bin and mug holder. The assistant on the till though wanted sorting, she thought she was not going to help packing, thought she was too good for it, until she realised that I was not going to pay until I had everything packed!! Most unusual for Wilkinson staff in Donny. Wanted to go to Lidl, but although I saw it, could I get to it with the car - no way, neither am I sure whether there is parking with it or not. Anyway got 2 hours free parking with Morrisons.

Tomorrow the sander is due, and then we set off for the Tunnel after tea.

(((hugs))) to you all, especially Beth and JackieG. DG

  • Hi everyone,
got quite a bit done today but not had the best run of luck.
decided to stock up on flash mop refils ( not very mse but they are my only luxury, they help me keep everything manageable with an 8 month old) while they are on rollback at Asda and I left my £10 change at the self service :(. When i realised not two minutes later someone had been on their toes with it , so im trying not to let it bug me too much these things happen.
Also cut my finger with the huge knife i was using to cut the beeg we had for a roast, deary me.
Managed to get a couple of washes done and the bath mats are in the tumble dryer along with my slippers to give them a head start with drying as i need them back in the bathroom asap.
Hoping for a little bit more of a successfull day tomorrow
