    Not until early next year

Is that documented anywhere, or is it a guess ?

What it says on the RBS website is :
We expect the sale to complete in the second half of 2012, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions.

Careful with the Cooperative Bank Cashminder - The Visa Debit card is in fact a Visa Electron Card, although branded as Visa Debit it won't work in certain places... ie paying for train tickets from a conductor on train or Tesco's petrol pumps to name a few.

Yes, I cant purchase train tickets but card works on Asda petrol pumps which are cheapest for me anyway. :)

So they can give you a upgraded current account, but not the free current account. Sounds fishy to me, either

Try to apply online to them to cut their sales bull

Or tell them no, I'd like the free standard current account please else I'm taking all my money out and going to the bank down the road.

I'd suggest Lloyds TSB classic account.

    It's not 'fishy', it's fact.

Although an option there's a fair chance anyone being declined for an Select Account would be declined for a full account elsewhere.

The correct process is to change the account type, the number is unchanged and no credit checks are made.
How do i do that then mate??
I have the Step account what options do i have have!. I',m not looking for the select silver fee paying account. Do i upgrade or open new account.. Do i go into branch or do it online.

    No it's not.

Apply online and it's credit checked and every chance as a second account the new one offered will be the Basic.

How the times have changed back in the day you always used to have to do a new app for upgrades from non scored accounts.

If you don't want Select Silver you need to apply for a new account. You can do it online or in branch.

Non-scored pre-release forms. They were what I was all about!

Do you not read my posts? -.- lol

Be careful though if doing it on Back Office. The little issue I've mentioned before about PAL screens, and not being able to upgrade/open a new account if they don't pre-assess for it, may apply.
Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion :p
