    Shares down.

    Gold down.

Silver down 11% today alone. :)

Houses down also :) , the support bandings for house prices have all but gone, we are in for at least a 5% to 10% drop in 2012 ..

Not everything is to do with house prices y'know. This oculd be a lot more serious.

Im sorry. It's just that im a novice in all this and am just wondering if a house price crash is expected as I can't afford to buy at current levels. Im trying to save a deposit but it's not easy when paying out rent every month.
  • MSE timed their new story well. "Restpite as FTSE rises slightly".

Released as it falls off a cliff again. The MSE story may well be correct later on though....who knows

    Novice?

Pensions income down 14% from the start of this year.

But falling prices are good, apparently.;)

Hang fire Graham, there's just been a slight rally. A gain of 0.1% from the low point.

You really do struggle with context don't you.

Not really, anyone with a brain can see that lower prices effects lots of people, be it houses, shares etc.

Anyone with cash invested in a falling asset is set to lose when asset prices fall?

The reason they fall is likely to effect those that have no cash invested in the assets also.

So no problem with context here GD, just a problem with people not explaining how falling prices in general is a good thing for everyone?

The stock market is a perfect example of why it is not.

House price values on property sites are irrelevant - sellers will take sensible offers. I offered what ended up £34,000 less for mine than a *worse* spec house just up the road was on for and was accepted, so either that house is stupidly overvalued to begin with or I got a bargain! I'm hoping the latter ;)
  • Lower value. Lower prices.

    Two different things.

    As I said, context.
