All actions so far have been more debt, more magical money and extending the pain.
Exactly Graham. It's time for all these world leaders and so called economic experts to accept the fact that we ARE heading back into recession and to stop spouting all the guff regarding that they still don't think there will be a recession.0 -

Same old same old on the share boards.
Same people who bought at the lowest points yesterday are now suggesting there are buying at the lowest point again today. Someone suggested now might not be a good time to buy on an AIM board and is currently being thrown from pillar to post and being put on ignored lists. Bizzare forums. So little sand, so many heads.0 -
I think another indicator of the impending doom is the dropping off of oil prices. Historically there has been a strong link between high oil prices preceding recession, followed by a drop in prices as the demand weakens due to subsequent weakening of economies. All this data is showing a push into a recessionary period.0

However they are now down a further 1% and are under the magical 5000 mark.
BBC are still showing the headline as 'stabilised'
What a bunch of morons!0 -
Does the FTSE falling mean we will end up with cheaper property for sale?0

I suppose the good news is that the FTSE seems to fairing the best of all the major economies stock markets at the moment. :money:0

Damage has already been done to my S&S ISA:
FTSE All-Share Tracker
Aviva
Greggs
BP PLC
Workspace Group
Lloyds Banking Group
Heritage Oil
All are currently showing a 20% or greater loss apart from BP and Greggs which still show small gains.
Just gonna sit tight and keep collecting the divi's until this blows over.
Might transfer £5k in from my 16k in my Nationwide Cash ISA and pile a bit into Tesco and the like if the gloom continues.0 -

No, I'm sure Hamish et al will be able to spin this as a good news story for an increase in UK property prices.0
