Depending on the niche, and using just Adsense, 700 page views per day could easily earn you £3.50 per day, and could earn £7-8 per day. And that is based on a pessimistic 1% CTR.
That might not sound a lot, but £1200 - 2900 extra a year, for little work, is not to be sniffed at...
PM me if you want me to have a look at your blog and give you some advice

To deselby - unfortunately I know nothing about HTML (I intend to learn but as the old saying goes there never seems to be enough hours in the day.)
Not to worry. The Meta Tags thing is offensively easy to alter, and there are generators online all over the place (as a newbie, I'm not allowed to post links, but just do a search for 'Meta tags generator' and you'll be innundated!) that do all the hard stuff for you. All you need to do is copy and paste in the generated code, and you'll see the benefits fairly quickly in terms of improved Google ranking score.
In all honesty though, the best bit of advice given on this thread so far is to get popular sites to link to yours. It's not easy, but the boost it gives to your blogs page rank is significant to say the least!0 -
Hi, I have started a blog tonight on blogspot as it was free and I wanted to have a quick look at a free one first before I spend any money. I am happy with the start and the content but not sure how to add pics as there is nothing on the settings to allow this?
So can if I pay for a blog site domain etc, can someone explain how this works and if it is better?
How do I use twitter to gain interest/followers? I am not savvy to twitter, have found a few DJ's to do with the kind of music I am blogging about and can use their info on upcoming events but not sure how I will get myself seen on twitter.
If I buy the domain name for my blog does that mean I will be able to use that address instead of the blogspot one? Will this be better for getting more traffic to site?
Considering there are thousands of pics and videos of DJ's around the world all over the net i.e on youtube can I use them on my blog?
There is a few to start with
Feeling quite nervous now in case it flops(and probably will) but if I can crack this one I have a few ideas for more but would like to actually learn what I am doing first and get this one set up how I want it so I can move onto the next one. 0 -
Ok, just to add now I have bought my domain name as it was quite cheap. Staying with blogspot I think till I find my feet, but I have no idea how to change my web address to the one I have nought can anyone point me in the right direction please

I think you should first create a niche for your blog; meaning decide a theme for the blog and focus on the same. Write articles on what's in demand or what's discussed within a community. There could be several themes which you can consider. However ensure that the theme interests you as well. Otherwise, your initial excitement may die down slowly.
Once you have identified a theme, do some research around it to see what are the popular topics/discussions and start writing!
Remember, writing interesting articles alone isn't sufficient. You need to promote you blog to drive traffic. You can promote your blog on Facebook, invite your friends to visit the blog. Post some interesting picture along with the link to your blog. However, have relevant images. You can also create a fan page for your blog.
So, to summarize have a niche theme for the blog. Ensure that theme is of your interest. Use facebook as a tool to promote your blog.
Hope this helps.

Making an income from blogging is EXTREMELY hard, trust me. Most of you will fail within the first 3 months. Getting traffic to your site is grueling and time consuming, and takes months/years to get a steady flow of regular visitors. Just keep this in mind, this is NO quick route to cash.0

It is a pretty niche subject that I haven't found anyone else do it yet, I've researched key words so have an idea where to go next and I had 8 visits in the first hour between USA and Germany
through twitter I think. Just can't work out the domain change then I'll be ready to start really updating the info. Great help here albeit very confusing at times thanks. 0 -
Your hits will most likely be bots trawling the net.
Keep at it, blogging can be extremely rewarding but takes time0
