Your choice of airline

If you have no choice but to use a specific Airline then there isn't much you can do about it.
The 2p thing is all marketing. How often have you paid 2p or £10 on a Ryan Air flight?
Got 8 flights in the next few weeks all for under a tenner all in.
Used to get the 1p flights, I had dozens of them.
I don't think I've ever paid over a tenner and I've done hundreds of flights with them.
Get your facts right mate

The 2p thing is all marketing. How often have you paid 2p or £10 on a Ryan Air flight?
Almost every time. I'm flexible with my dates, I use Martin's Flightchecker to pick up the deals, and then I make sure to opt out of any hold luggage, insurance, credit card fees etc...
I've only had two trips (I think) at 2p, but I've had half a dozen at £10.
In fact, a quick check now... yep, even with no sale on I can pop down to the South of France and back for £27.60. I can't get to London for thatMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
These 2p and very cheap flights? I'm guessing you have to travel only on set dates and the destinations is very limited?
(oh by the way, i still wouldn't set foot on a Ryanair flight for 2p as absolutely no money of mine will go near O'Leary).0 -
I completely disagree that many millions are 'happy' with the way they are treated by Ryan Air. I think there are many millions of people who find no alternative but to fly Ryanair.
You suspicions are not only wrong, but ignorant and rude.
I've seen enough of him in interviews and the way he acts to know what kind of man he is.
If people weren't happy with Ryanair they would choose an alternative - oh, hang on a minute, in most cases there isn't an alternative.
There are small, regional airports all over Europe whose continued existence is solely down to Ryanair - and while they are much derided over their choice of airports well outside major cities their success is due to the fact that people are happy to fly to those airports and taken a cheap coach journey into the city because the price is right.
And if you really think major airlines with their expensive PR machines care one iota more about you the passenger than Michael O'Leary does you're wrong.
It's business and the bottom line - and shareholders - are what count.0 -
Nobjocki appears to be forgetting again about the forum rule 'Please be nice to Moneysavers'.
Nope - you don't have to be an MSEr to be too dopey or lazy to follow clear instructions on a website.
Although I do find it ironic that people on a money saving site complain about a cheap airline they've never flown on.;)0 -
Today I've heard some good news, another local aerodrome (although I gather that word no longer exists) it seems is going to become a small Airport. We've been watching the building work with interest.
Come on Ryanair fly in to Lezignan-Corbières, I doubt they'll have much competition from Bloody Awful airlines on that route but six quid from London and six euro's to London sounds damn good to me.0 -
If its long haul, depending on the destination, I personally find that having a "G-" registration on the side of the aircaft is a huge plus (or the registration of another major European nation, possibly excluding F-).0

I fly with American Airlines rather than BA to the US because their airmile programme is much better. You can earn free trips much much quicker. Also their business class is better, although BAs is definitely not bad at all. I just prefer the way the seats all face forward, and therefore you are not looking at a random passenger in the face and/or having to step over them to go to the loo! And theyve got noise cancelling earphones.0

I think only a few people would agree that AAs business is better than BAs business. The lounges are far superior, the food and drinks on board are better, and the BA seat is far, far superior (unless you prefer sleeping at an angle in a wedgie-seat).
Half the seats in BA face forward, so you can always select one of those. You don't need to look at a random passenger; thats what the divider is for.
You do need to step over the narrowest part of the person (their feet) if you are in a middle or window seat. Many of the window and middle seats don't require any step over.
However, in AA's business if you are in a window or middle seat you'd have to climb over the widest part of the person next to you, or more likely get them to stand up and let you past. Remember, that's a real problem given the configuration of AAs food/drinks trays, and that your headphones plug into the seat infront (not your own).
Lastly, both offer noise cancelling headphones - BA even offer those in economy plus.Legal team on standby0
