I was wondering what little pearls of wisdom Forum Members might have been given over the years.
For me, I've always lived by the mantra 'Manners cost nothing but go a long way' (see, it is moneysaving!), and I now say the same to my 4 children.
My other favourite is : 'If it's important, put it in a safe place' - the kids hate that one when they've lost their wallet/Ipod/mobile/homework, etc. It kind of ties in with 'A place for everything and everything in it's place', but it does work and I can always find spare batteries, phone chargers, the right tool for a job, etc.
My boyfriend is always quoting his dad's favourite saying which was 'Never a lender or borrower be'. The principal of this was that you never seem to get your stuff back, or return other people's belongings in a timely manner. His dad's other favourite was 'Get out of the way boy, you're blocking the light', but I don't think he's learnt much from this one!
Any more for any more?

No, seriously, the advice wasn't given to me personally, but as said in Forrest Gump, 'Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get'. Sums it all up I think.

Make the most out of every day you spend with the people you love because one day they won't be there and you'll be full of regrets.

I've got a few,
Make plans for yourself or you'll soon become part of someone elses.
There is always another way to look at things.
One I figured out by myself,
time is going to go on regardless, might as well do something useful.
In 100 years no one will care whether .......you cleaned the house daily!(substitute any job you don't want to do)

For me it's always been 'what goes around comes around' and 'do unto others as......... (what's the rest of the saying? :rotfl: I know what I mean!)Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass

I have to add this, my Dad gave me this many years ago and it still really resonates with me. In fact, fair to say it changed my life.....
Press on
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
