Which Android phone to get?

Hi folks, looking for advice on which Android phone to get for my wife - she has a Desire at the mo and loves it except too small memory. However I want to keep her with decent high end phones so am considering:
- HTC Sensation
- Samsung Galaxy S2
- Motorola Atrix
- LG Optimus 3D
I'm very tech litterate but the specs seem very similar on those phones, so I guess its down to usability... so any opinions on them would be appreciated.
Cheers

It takes up to 32Gb memory cards.Lifes_Grand_Plan wrote: »Hi folks, looking for advice on which Android phone to get for my wife - she has a Desire at the mo and loves it except too small memory.
I think all androids are pretty much the same in terms or usability. The specifications are different. Use http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3621&idPhone2=3875 to compare. However I want to keep her with decent high end phones so am considering:

I would guess they're talking about available user memory. Adding an SD card doesn't help much, even with moving apps to SD.
In order to get anything like useful space, you need to root the device and install a ROM that supports an extended data partition on SD.
OP - You really need to get your wife to test out the devices she's interested in. In the absence of information about how she uses her device, I would say a toss up between the Sensation and Galaxy S2.
Be aware the (slightly upgraded) Sensation XE is released October 1st so this *MAY* result in some good deals for the original Sensation becoming available. I also noticed the offers on the Galaxy S2 seem to have improved recently, maybe in anticipation of the Galaxy S3 rumoured for release in Q1 2012.0 -
I had the same decision to make a couple of months ago! I had a HTC Hero, and I chose the HTC Sensation in the end, mainly because I thought keeping with HTC might make transferring all my info a bit easier, i.e. the phonebook entries moved over perfectly with no need for editing due to odd formatting. Obviously the others might do this too being Android but I thought I'd go for the safe option!
The Atrix did tempt me a little, but I went to a store to have a look and it seemed a lot chunkier in the hand than the others, so that was that one out. Plus I think to make the most of it's features you need to be more of a techy than I am!
One of my friends has the S2 so I got to have a bit of a play with that, it's a lovely phone but there were little differences to the way it works, I much preferred the HTC Sense interface.
Not sure about the LG Optimus, but it hasn't got as up to date an OS as the Sensation I don't think? I think it probably makes sense to get one with the most recent build if it's not a massive price difference.
I adore my Sensation, it's so fast compared to the Hero, the camera is great (Hero one sucked!), and the gorilla glass screen is doing it's job well but I had to get a case because the back is really slippy to hold and I was scared I'd drop it.
Hope that's useful

How soon are you looking to upgrade? Samsung are expected to release the Galaxy Note in the new year. Basically an Galaxy S II but with 5.3" screen and some other new goodies. http://www.samsung.com/global/microsite/galaxynote/note/index.html?type=find
Looks like this could be replacing my existing Galaxy S.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Nickmack is correct, not all apps can be moved to SD so her phone is rammed with not too many apps on there really.
There is a really good deal on the Atrix at the moment (about £12 a month for 24 months) which has got me tempted..I guess any on my list would be advanced enough for her, just not sure about motoblur on the atrix plus its still on 2.2 AFAIK.
The same as you Kelly, the HTC sensation would be most familiar to her after the Desire...
The Galaxy S2 is the most powerful out of the three so that is tempting but also the most expensive. Do any of the other three have NFC except the S2?
I think the LG is least favourite at the mo, the 3D thing is just a fad and hurts my eyes, and from having my Optimus 2X and the slowness to update to the latest Android made me promise never to buy LG again...A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

Thanks for the post but IMHO 5.3" is way too big for a phone screen... I think even the current 4.3" crop are pushing it which is why when I renewed a few months back I went for the 4" LG Optimus 2X.
I have my HP Touchpad for bigger stuff so happy to stay reasonably small for a phone.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

147x[STRIKE]93[/STRIKE] 83mm and 180g?!
I'd say it's huge. Like a small tablet rather than a phone.0 -
Size corrected. This compares with the SII at 125x66mm making it 17% longer and 25% wider.147x83mm and 180g?!

I agree its large but Smasung think the divide between phones and tablets will blur and this phone sits in the blurred area.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

My brother has the Atrix and he loves it - says its pretty easy to use. Like Kelly I also liked the Sense interface that my dear departed Desire HD had
but the memory capacity on the S2 is fab (about the only thing I do like about the dam thing ) I currently have almost 250 songs on it and its hardly taken up any of the memory and thats also with 4 additional pages of apps! *The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
