Went to Mr T's Hav3rfordw3st today and picked up 2 packs of Activia, Berry flavout Greek yoghurt. SEL said 2 for £3 but didnt come off so DTD back (They were £2.18 each)

The other two items I bought were Texet scientific calculators, bar code ending 4144. The box they were in said "half price £4.50 down to £2.25". The SEL said £4.95. Picked up 2, was chaged £4.95 but then given DTD, no hassle at all.

They have these in the M1ddleton store. There ARE 2 ON THE SHELF WITH ALL THE STATIONARY AND I PUT 5 NEAR THE CLEARANCE ELETRICALS AS i WAS GOING TO GET THEM FOR DTD BUT SPOTTED OOD PHONES FOR DTD SO DIDN@T WANT TO BE GREEDY.

sO 7 CALCS IN TOTAL FOR EXCELLENT DTD ... GRAB 'EM :)

(EDIT - Oops, sorry for shouting .. my keyboard must have got excited ;) )

(double edit, lol, ... no 4p pets, hooks are scanning at full price and Jodi Picoult book scanning correctly too)
  • I've just come across your site and so I'm not quite sure what it is you have to do. Please tell it looks good. Think I've been walking around with my eyes shut. I need to know. :)

I couldn't see the command hooks or the littlest pet shop stuff in my store but I did get the Jodi Picoult book, stickered for £2.99, scanned at £6.95 so got £7.94 back! Thankyou!

I picked up a box of Weetabix 36's today, they are at a 'special' price of £2 however they scanned at £1.49!! Hope this helps some others!
Thanks to all those who take the time :A and effort to post!!
  • I know it sounds dim but I'm new to this. Do you have to buy the items that are wrongly priced then take them back, or have I got it all wrong.

hi, sorry, i did hunt thru the first few pages before coming to ask, and it seems im not the only one unsure. the first post just says that dtd stands for double the difference. theres no explanation, well, not that i noticed, that doesnt say much tho! reading thru some more recent posts it seems that you buy the mispriced item, and they give you double the difference back. you dont point it out at the till, but at customer services after youve paid. i hope thats correct, (im sure someone will point it out if im not!) and helps the other newbies to this thread!:)
    :hello:

yes sherbie DTD works for example a past DTD was Barbie car, self price £12.50, buy it at the self check out, scan and paid £25. therfore overcharged £12.50. So Double the Difference, £12.50x2 £25. Go to Customer services and You get the £25 Back so this product ended up costing Nothing. some products due to the DTD you can actually get paid to take the product away with you, some stores will try and pay just the difference so be ready to ask for the DTD, some give it no problem also some people say to take a piture of the self price as if they crafty they will take it away. I have only ever got the barbie car.

abbreviations copied from another thread might be on here as well not sure but might help some.

    SEL: Shelf Edge Label
    DTD: Double the Difference
    JTD: Just the Difference
    RTC: Reduced to Clear
    OOD: Out Of Date
CC: Clubcard or Credit Card, depends on context
    HTH: Hope That Helps
    SA: Sales Assistant
    CS: Customer Services
    DD: Darling Daughter
    DS: Darling Son
    OH: Other Half
    DH: Darling Husband

I am unsure how the OOD lables work if anyone can shed any light on this i be thankfull as someone mentioned there getting phones with a OOD
