  • Yes, you should have recieved DTD. I had this problem last weekend where my meal deal discount did not come off at the checkout. I went to Customer services and she offered a refund. I pointed to the DTD policy on the board behind her and she says it doesn't apply because it was not their error. She was quite rude actually and i felt really embarrassed by how she treated me.
I emailed Tesco CS last night to complain and asked for clarification on the DTD policy. I recieved a phone call this morning from them with an apology. The lady on the phone also stated that the DTD policy is in place to compensate the customer for the inconvenience of having to go to customer services as the result of an overcharge. She stated that the DTD should be given in ALL instances of an overcharge and she also stated it is the stores responsiblitily to ensure that the products in the store are in the correct place to avoid the confusion of the wrong item being selected for a meal deal promotion. She also issued a £5 gift card for my inconvenience and said she will speak to the Customer Service manager of the store to remind them of the DTD policy! Result!! :T

Thank you, I will remember this for next time!.

They mentioned there was a problem with trousers going through incorrectly as well.

Went to Mr T's Hav3rfordw3st today and picked up 2 packs of Activia, Berry flavout Greek yoghurt. SEL said 2 for £3 but didnt come off so DTD back (They were £2.18 each)

The other two items I bought were Texet scientific calculators, bar code ending 4144. The box they were in said "half price £4.50 down to £2.25". The SEL said £4.95. Picked up 2, was chaged £4.95 but then given DTD, no hassle at all.
  • Does anyone know if there's a self service bar code scanner thing (excuse my poor knowledge of what it's really called) in the above store, that can be used by customers to check prices?

    Thanks.
