Tesco misprices and discussion (Thread 12)

• Some help please (from you experienced DTD folks) Went to Tesco today, bought a lamb leg, expecting it to be about £11, also price on leg said £22. The label on lamb said £9.99 per kilo, but the SEL said £4.98. Tried to get DTD and spent 25 minutes at customer service. The lamb I paid for said use by 12th Dec, the ones clearly marked with the flashy sticker were £4.99 were SEL Dec 17th....but they were identical to mine. I was first told that the offer was for New Zealand lamb only. ( I had a UK one). I told them that there was a mix of New Zealand and British, even took the SA to the aisle to prove this, which I did. They I was told that the lamb leg I purchased was 'new stock', which would replace the sale lamb legs. (the new stock I purchased had a use by date of 12th Dec! The sale ones were 17th Dec) I pointed this out.

Have I been fobbed off? If so, I will ring customer service.
but if they say they will double the diff when there is a price error, I would think they would do so.

Hi lizziebell
no much in St P's either one bar of the whit choc left at 34p and a few packs of the sally smith wipes

I use St P's more than Warndon so maybe we can let each other know if anything shows up?
Definitely, I live nearer warndon. Didn't know about Sally smith wipes or else would have checked for those too. I'll need to check back through the thread. I prefer St P, less trouty so far and better cheap section in the evenings I've been in.

Yes, you have been fobbed off, ring HO>

I got 3 legs today (should have got 4, had a whole lamb) but didn't want to take the p1$$ too much. CS was chuffed for me that I got them free, bless him. Now, how on earth do you cook one?

its my understanding if the price where the item is placed was 4.99 then thats what u pay . even if a product has been shelfed wrong by staff . i got a dtd a while back on lindnt easter chocs due to a staff error in this way . so i feel u were fobbed of to be honest

Lol, having the price drop leaflet or spotting a £4.99 sel or sign is the easy bit it's finding lamb legs priced at £9.99 that's more difficult.;)
Funnily enough it's not that hard especially if you have a Tesco extra full with them :D not a single sticker in sight nor a single SEL stating £4.99 all state £9.99, away with 2 x lamb priced at £9.99 per kg and price drop leaflet tadah! free lamb.

So not really that difficult. ;)
I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!

PlayingHardBall, they said the exact same things to me a week ago when i paid full price for the Tesco finest chickens. I rang head office and got £32 back from them there for the trouble and they rang the staff at my store to set things straight too. Its well worth a call to head office :o

Sorry you have been well and truly fobbed off. I would be emailing philip.clarke@uk.tesco.com saying you have better things to do on a Saturday then spend 25 minutes at customer services to try and sort out a clear Tesco overcharge, receiving a rubbish excuse for the oveercharge and where the customer service assistant cant then implement the Tesco company overcharge policy (dtd). You could also suggest some staff retaining for the staff. I suspect you will receive a positive response and probably 'something' for your trouble.
