Tesco misprices and discussion (Thread 12)

Wine worked for me this morning, too. (Have posted on the other thread too but some people don't see it.) I didn't try the half price bottles, as I assumed the till would see the discounted, not original, price, but did several of the 3 for £12 offers. The till sees the original price and then discounts twice. First it takes off the total cost of three bottles minus £12 (so 3 x £6.79 = 20.37 and to get that down to £12, it refunds £8.37). Then, as I actually bought six of these, they scanned at £40.74 in total. The till then returned a further 25% of this, ie £10.19, making the total cost of the six bottles £13.81. I think this is better value than the mini bottles, if you can afford the outlay.
I went back and did it again, forgetting that the more expensive the original price, the more discount you get. Will remember that next time!
Prestwich has loads of the price drop magazines. 1kg Quality Street is now reduced to £3.99 so I got that instead of the Celebrations -- imho it looks classier and it weighs more than the Celebrations.
Prestwich also has a SEL of 34p for the Dairy Milk -- shelf was empty!0 -
Sorry just read my post and noticed the spelling error!! That's what happens when you are rushing!! Meant gummies not tummies. Was obviously thinking of mine!! HTH:)0

Yes, having posted about the 3 for £10 at ASDA I was coming back regards this offer....
There's a Merlot at £6.99
6 would be £41.94
3 for £12 kicks in - so £24
LESS 25% of £41.94 = £10.49
£24 - £10.49 = £13.51
£2.25 a bottle  :j

Sorry, they must have corrected it at some stores and not others. Nickilala reported it had stopped working in her store last night.0 -
Just back from Mr t's got 6 bottles of first cape discovery merlot 75cl and it worked a treat with the 3 for £12 offer + each 25% did it via self service but assistant came up to help scan and remarked how "clever" I was to work this out haha thanks for this my folks are well chuffed (I personally don't drink wine)

If you can find the Cono Sur Pinot Noir now it will only be £1.64 a bottle if you buy 6, as the 25% discount kicks in on an already super cheap price. I was amazed to find the shelf fully restocked at my local Tesco this morning so another 12 just found their way into my trolley, dunno how that happened
What was even more amazing is that there is a shelf label there saying £2.19 a bottle but people were walking by!0
