  • Hii Cydnie20 - The Celebration tins should be going through the tills at £10, but the price drop magazine (should be found in the enterance to your store or at the end of your checkouts) says they are half price at £5 and the offer is valid from 24th November to 4th December.

Buy the box of Celebrations, then take your reciept to customer services. Tell them you have been overcharged as the price mag says they are £5, but you got charged £10, and the offer is valid untill 4th December, so should be £5.

In theory, you should recieve £10 back and get to keep your chocolates. Eg, you were overcharged £5, which Tesco double as its their fault they over charged you and it's their policy, so you get £10 back, if CS (customer services) refuse DTD (double the difference) then call HO (head office) :)

Hope this helps, i've tried to explain as clearly as i could :) xx

Thank you so much for your help, very kind of you to take the time to let me know, i wasn't sure if this was just an online offer or not. Thank you again xx hope to be getting some in the morning for christmas, "FREE" X:T

  • Hi Tracy,I found it haha. Can't believe I've missed this thread!!!
Don't forget that there is a coupon for £1 off celebrations in the price drop mag and if I remember correctly the pricematch thing doesn't take that into consideration so a potential profit to be made.

Hi, the RIESLING was £3.19 in Abergele today, not marked on SEL, yet full priced at Llandudno junction. Still on the hunt for the red tho!

Got loads of cashews, pistachios and Harry's nuts, all full price on SEL,but scanned cheaper.

Been reading this thread for long time but never bothered registering as not had anything to add ...

Have just been to my local Mr T's 7.30pm *(trent vale / stoke on trent) searched the WHOLE store for Celebrations non anywhere so asked one of the older tesco ladies and she said "thats strange we had a pallet of them and pointed to where they were, said they must have sold out (seems not likely I thought) asked a further two members of staff and tried to blag someone to go look in the back with no joy ........ do you think they have either spotted this on hear/had a email off head office or another person has managed to get DTD so they been taken off the shop floor ??

In the end wasn't a bad trip got 22 packets of the wine gums for £2 they had sold out of the giant lollies though and a few coupon items (1 dr p, bottle of cider and a pack of walkers sensations)

Anyone manage pick up the celebrations also was wondering if the heros are scanning at £10 as they are in the book as £5 but also non anywhere in the store I visited :)

    stu1e :)

This may seem thick but i've been trying to find out the answers to these questions for a while so am just gonna ask!

DTD - thought they got rid of it? Can they refuse it?
JTD - what's that? Does it mean they double the difference between their price and asda's price?

So with these celebrations/heroes, I can go instore and buy 2 boxes for £20, then DTD £20 back, then JTD(whatever that is) more money back thus making a profit and keeping the celebrations/heroes?

Cheers to whoever clears this up for me :P

As a side note: none of the £2 wine in Y**wsly tesco last night, they had the white but didn't bother to ask someone to scan it - wish i knew that some people were getting that cheap too! Cleared them out of the fruit gummies though ;)
  • thank you went to my local extra in sutton at roughly 2.30pm and managed to get 5 bars of dairy milk for 34p have had to hide them or i will eat them all.

DTD; they got rid of the old dtd where if something was cheaper in asda, tesco would refund double the difference.

JTD: 'Just the difference' meaning if your shopping at asda would be cheaper, (you find out through the online pricechecker by inputting your reciept details) then they will give you the difference through a printable voucher.

New DTD; if you are overcharged in tesco ie, sel says £1, charged £3, you will get to keep the item and they double what they overcharged... so overchared £2, doubled is - £4 given back to you :) - and no they can't refuse it. If the barcode on the sel matches the product they have no excuse at all to refuse it. But you will find they use every excuse they can. Stand your ground but if that doesnt work, phone HO (head office) :)

Celebrations/Heros; yes, buying two boxes at £20 and showing CS the price drop mag should get you £20 DTD back. Then input your reciept into the price check and get the additional £5 JTD (just the difference) voucher :)

I've been looking for the Dormen nuts for ages now and actually found one pac of pistachios ('colourful & charming' it says!!!) and one of jumbo cashews (smooth & sophisticated) in Walkden. Scanned every other Dormen pac but they were all the right price. These two pacs were sort of shoved at the back of an empty shelf so I am thinking some kind mse person left them there -- I couldn't find any others.

There were loads of the 34p diary milk chocolate -- fair trade too! I tried scanning the fruit and nut as well, as I thought someone had said that worked, but it was the correct price.

Walkden also had loads of pacs of Walkers Sensations ime & coriander chutney poppadoms in a large crisps-style pac, purple, reduced from £1.74 to 10p. At that price, I got several, but there were loads left. BB 03.12.11 but I have just opened a pac and they are very crisp so don't suppose they will go off after Saturday!

There was no pyrex and I hadn't made a note of the toys so didn't try them. Whoopsies were done earlier than usual today so at 8 pm there was nothing left. :(

What are the Harry nuts please?!
