Dont you? If the benefits board upsets you so much, why read it? Is it because secretly you enjoy getting on your high horse?

I have made under 40 posts per month! Pot, kettle, black?

I used to quite enjoy browsing it, but there are some people just hell bent on taking the pish with the system. I am certainly not against people being on benefits as my mum is due to being disabled. But I am against those who just want to take take take and abuse the system. Hope that clears that up?
  • Thanks for your replies anyone who gave their opinion on my question
I think I posted on the wrong thread though as I was meaning the ones you pay for at getonlineathome not the free ones.

It wasn't until I read this thread then I realised how much of a lifeline.

I check my bank every day - I have to making sure all is how it should be as my brain is not working as it did and I can easily miss things.

My wife is out if action so yesterday I did an online Tesco shop due in about half an hour otherwise I would have no milk or many other items of food.

I feel guilty I don't support physical presence shops but being a wheelchair user & even them feeling like what's 'it most days I can't. I've been trying to make an optician appointment since last April so shame you can't do a 'on the computer' self eye test.

I could go on and on but yes I would like to think those who feel their PC is their lifeline can always afford to have one.

you should check out home opticians they specialise in helping those who can get to convntional opticians through disability, age etc they are able to do eye sight tests within your home and even bring a show case of glasses with them for you to try. They make up the prescription and then bring them to you and fit once ready. You could try Health care optical we've used them loads at work and they are all over uk :)

Thanks for the advice. I've still not been to the opticians apart from my usual conditions I had a 'funny' turn last week. They (GP) thought it may of been some form of mini stroke as luckily he was here when I was in the main phase of it.
  • rather than getting a new computer i suggest you look at getting some components and upgrade a few devices if that works.......it really is not that hard...by the sound of things you may need a new CPU fan and some more RAM which should not cost you an arm and a leg....

I think computers are becoming more and more essential. I don't think they should be free (because it can be abused) but at a reduced price for people on benefits would be a good idea I think

In mainland Europe kids get them when they start pre school!
