Amazon 30 day price promise NOT

Options
What's the point in having a 30 day price promise if you don't honor it?

I have checked our records and found that, we are currently unable to
offer this item, as we're currently out of stock of "Kingston
Technology 1GB Secure Digital (SD) Card" and we are not able
to guarantee when or if it will be available for purchase on our
website. For this reason, the item is currently listed as out of
stock.

Further, I have checked our records and found that this item is
available with the Marketplace sellers. The discounted price you have
seen on our website is actually, the price of the item offered by the
Marketplace sellers.

If the price of this item has changed on our retail store only then
we are able to adjust the price of an item in instances where
less than thirty days have passed between the date on which an order
was dispatched and the time that an item is reduced in price on our
site.

I hope this clarifies your query.

It's in stock for immediate fulfilment by
Amazon themselves, at £1.50 less than I paid for it a couple of weeks ago.

I had no problem getting 50p back from them a couple of weeks since!

Is the marketplace bit not like ebay and its just sellers selling their items? If thats the case then I can understand that Amazon wont refund it?!

Maybe it came back in stock after the email was sent, why not try again and this time phone up instead
  • Talk to Customer Service by phone.
Provide your phone number and we'll call you right away.
[Note: this feature is currently available for customers in the UK and Ireland only.]

This feature is available under "HELP".

Then "where's my stuff" under dispatch & delivery.

You simply enter your phone number, click "By phone" and your phone rings with the usual silly automated menu and you can talk to an Amazon person foc.
Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.

Yeah I'll ring them if I have to but I shouldn't have to put up with their incompentence for the sake of £1.50.

As for them comming in stock since I sent the email, I sent the email BECAUSE they were in stock, and you'll see in my OP amazon said "and we are not able to guarantee when or if it will be available for purchase on our website. "

    Complete fabrication.

Here's the item, still in stock fufilled by amazon:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00070QI1I

Then in the "More buying choices" windows click on the link "21 used & new"

Then scroll down and click "See all 20 New offers"

It's kind of annoyed me as I was toying with the idea of writing a program to automatically check my old back-orders, but to be honest I think I just try and buy elswewhere from now on.

Sorry no I missed that but looking at the link you gave in the last post you posted it says 'In stock
Dispatched from and sold by thecomponentshop' - does this not mean that its not actually amazon that are selling it?

Yes hjb123 from the very link given by the outraged OP I cannot find a single item that is being sold by Amazon. The whole lot are from marketplace sellers.
  • All of the items on the link are from marketplace sellers. Amazon are out of stock themselves.

    It say's this
    "Price: £4.37

Availability: In stock. Dispatched from and sold by flash_memory

    That's a private seller!

The 21 new and used are 20 new ones by private sellers and 1 used by a private seller.

Their right, it's in the marketplace. Yet you call them incompentent? Why?
