Maybe you should be thankful you weren't also prosecuted under the Control of Dogs Order 1992which says that

any dog in a public place must wear a collar with the name and address (including postcode) of the owner engraved or written on it, or engraved on a tag.

which he ALREADY DID- only it was subsequently removed wasn't it, THE VET ALSO CONFIRMED THAT IT DID INDEED HAVE A COLLAR ON ...and oh what a suprise the collar then goes missing and he is then charged for not having a collar....nice little earner isn't it and the 'helpful service' of this justifies the existence of such petty crooked jobsworths puppets that work in councils....and those who work alongside them. SCHOOLBOY BULLYING BUT ON A DIFFERENT LEVEL.

    Let's see:

    1. Ranting in capital letters.

    2. Insults.

    3. Paranoia.

    4. "You obviously work for them"

    5. Poor spelling.

Dude, would you mind comparing another poster to Hitler? It's the last entry on my 'Rant Bingo' card and I'd like to get it finished.

    Ta!

  • okay okay, I admit it, I opened the gate (it was secure for a dog, not for a human), I took the dog, and fancied the collar to stick on my Mrs. during our bondage sessions. I decided not to keep the dog though as it didn't take to peanut butter in the way I had hoped.

Feel free to sue me for your costs and inconvenience, as long as it will stop the utter nonsense and vitriol which is being spouted in this thread.

    1. Ranting in capital letters. OR in fact emphasis on getting points across, one point in particular which it would seem sycophants are choosing to ignore - rather conveniently...that being the dog had a sodding collar on...

    2. Insults. Some deserve to be insulted for their gross stupidity if there are any insults...

    3. Paranoia. Unsubstantiated perception. In fact, my accounts come from things what have indeed happened.

    4. "You obviously work for them" But those puppets who work for them timidly agree with bad practices, lying, not being accountable, doing what they like and seeing who fights back, and it would appear we have some on here...

    5. Poor spelling. Ha ha yeah right, well just point it out why don't you...I think that you will find that my spelling is perfect., being a proof reader...so you'll have to try harder than that...

    Hitler? Well you said it!

    suprise or surprise?
  • OP, I hope you don't leave this dog alone every day whilst you're both out at work. It was kind of you to take it in and try to find a home for it, but you should continue to try and find her a home. Dogs shouldn't be left alone all day, whether they are allowed access to the garden or not. They need company.

My own dog is a basket case partly because his first two owners left him alone all day.
Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.

    House!

    :-)
  • Waag,

Did you see the intruder who couldn't be bothered to break in?
Did you see the collar being removed, either by the warden or the vet?
Have you personally inspected the gate to ensure that it is adequate and was locked at the time the OP left the house?
Have you interviewed the neighbours, to check that this dog doesn't regularly get out during the day?
Could you please point me to the specific paragraph of ANY council training manual for dog wardens where it says that they must try to exploit people?
Could you, perhaps, explain the legal position of the warden if, having released dog straight back to the owner, he is confronted by someone who is trying to identify the dog which bit his little girl when the owner denies that it was ever stray and couldn't, therefore, have been the offending dog?
Was the owner going to tour the district picking up all the dog turds, because there was a good chance that his stray dog may have laid one of them?

Perhaps Waag thinks that fining dog owners when their mutts crap on the pavements and they refuse to pick it up is actually victimisation?

    Perhaps it's all a conspiracy?

Perhaps the dog wardens are trained on grassy knolls?

I've never had a dog, precisely because I work all day.
