I've had this happen to me before with a shower screen - scary isn't it!?!?

I'd perhaps push for a bath rather than a shower, re-iterating that you can use your parents bathroom down the road until they can fit it. Tell them you'll sign something to say that's ok, and "re-house" yourselves temporarily with your parents whilst they do the work.

I wouldn't bother with compensation. You have suffered no financial loss, and they were only minor scratches, and money won't make it any better. Best just to try and forget it and move on in these situations.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Maybe it's me, but if my little children were bleeding and scared after a glass pane breaking like this I'm afraid I'd be more concerned with cleaning them up and putting plasters on them rather than taking pictures.

Surely, unless there was some sort of negligence on the part of the fitter or manufacturer, there is no claim for compensation.

What financial loss would you be claiming?

As you can see in the pics they are no longer in the bathroom and my partner was getting a bowl of clean water and some TCP from downstairs.

Please don't suggest that in a bad parent!!!

No one ever did.... How are they today?

I'd be giving the last few panels a good whack with the back of my hand and see if they shatter. They are supposed be toughened and are supposed to break into a million peices as it did.

I wouldn't bother with compo. It's supposed to be for loss of something such as a body part or earnings. All they had was a few minor cuts and a big fright.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Compensation forms were offered by council CS and I simply asked in the first post if this would be viable?

So, whilst your OH was getting the first aid stuff you grabbed a camera - wouldn't grabbing a child and giving them comfort (whilst stemming the flow of blood) have been a better use of your time? You could always have taken photos later after the bleeding had stopped.

But you obviously wanted to capitalise on the red stuff which would appear even worse when mixed with water.

Plus, why post photos of your partially clothed small children on an internet forum just to prove a point?

Viable - interesting choice of words.

I accept that this has been a horrid experience but these things DO happen - it just seems that your focus is on using this situation to get money and a new bath to replace the shower that you no longer need (as opposed to just getting a new screen).

I wouldn't be happy with having it repaired in case it happened again. OP can't you ask permission to put a bath in yourself?

you cannot see anything apart from ones face and anothers limbs?!?!?!
