If you have anxiety and depression and regularly see your GP maybe you should be applying for ESA or DLA0
-
JSA is intended to cover living costs so you should be using that to help pay the bills at home.
If you lived alone, you'd have your rent paid, but every other bill would have to be covered from your JSA.
I don't see the problem anyway if you have a job starting in a couple of weeks...?0 -
Currently on JSA, have anxiety and depression.
That's a tough one, most of the benefits i was thinking of are accessed via the incapacity or disability benefits not JSA.
Having said that you may be entiltled to job grant if you meet the criteria:
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/Employedorlookingforwork/DG_10018789
Its a one off payment of £100 pounds but that's a £100 pounds more towards the household at least, or use it for travel expenses to work till your wage comes through.
Good to hear you got a job, their are the tax credits too depending on your hours.
Good luck.

If you're already claiming JSA or ESA you should be paying board out of that; it's not given to you for pocket money but to pay for food and utilities.0 -
If you are able to save enough to buy a house next year and emigrate as you state in this thread, then surely you can afford to pay your way without HB?* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

I said a couple of years...0 -
A previous post on another thread says you dont pay rent, so why would you need HB?
I'm suspecting a wind up though given you've now posted re HB, another thread re WTC due to "expectional" circumstances and another re DLA plus a thread where you plan to buy a house abroad.0 -

Not a wind up at all, due to wanting to buy my own house I just need all the money I can get.
No don't pay rent but I would like HB so I can contribute0 -
