I've always been interested in comping ever since I won an 'eat to the beat' tape from a bag of potatoes when i was ten! (In fact they sent about five of the same tape!)
I entered radio and paper/mag comps then i discovered mse in sept 2008 and was so excited by how many comps there were on here!Never looked back since.....so it looks like i'm here for life
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
ooh also won my first prize when very young :rotfl:was an out of date tin of beans or peas (can't remember which now :rotfl:in a raffle :rotfl:
first "proper" comp win was from a sunday newspaper crossword which you had to fill in in them days & send off, think the prize was about £10, a lot of money in them days :rotfl:
what did you win for your first comp josie
I still have it - it was set of 10 classic novels (alice in wonderland, gullivers travels etc) All bound in blue & gold binding
They follow me thru every house move & the kids have read some of them too - although think the 'anthology of poetry' will need to wait til they are a bit older lol
xxWasn't divadee the driving force in setting up the comps forum? My impression was that it wasn't really considered part of the general site - not real moneysaving - at first.
Yep along with Kipper. It has changed a lot since the beginning - evolving constantly - I guess it's not 'real' moneysaving, and that is what we have to remember when all the demands are made to change this that n the other - that it doesn't have to be part of the forum if it creates too much aggro! lol
