To smash the windscreen though i would suspect that possibly there may well be damage to the A Pillar (one that goes up side of windscreen) In which case it WILL be a write off.

well bigjl. i was driving along breaked as usual and then the car just started skidding, i wasnt going very fast and i just dont see any other reason as to why the car would skid like that. I must admit where it happened is a bad corner and slightly downhill. the road was damp but i still dont see how i skidded like i did! it was as if the breaks locked or something.

and blue_haddock it didnt look like the pillar was damaged the windscreen wasnt completely smashed just a crack up from the bottom of it.

Foot off the brake and the car would have stopped skidding, but no I bet you just pressed the brake harder. :rotfl:

well ive never been in that situation before im sure other ppl in that situation would try breaking too! i dont think theres any need for you to laugh at me, in fact i think its quite childish!

Its not very funny, i hurt myself and damaged my car! im sure you wouldnt be laughing if you were in the same situation please dontg post on here if your not going to be helpful

It's pretty hard to make a car with ABS lock up under braking..... (possible, but difficult)

well whatever happened happened i cant change anything now! im insured so i will either get my car repaired or get some money for a new one! fingers crossed i get my car back.

bigjl. is a sad case, I've had a few run ins with him myself, he's got nothing better to do than wind people up or be deliberately unhelpful. Don't let him get to you, just call him a <insert whatever here> and add him to your ignore list like everyone else
