just tried today and its exactly the same. no different. just a dead line. have wasted so much time with these guys and have used over 100 xnet minutes just redialling. they better sort it out soon. they're scamming everyones' minutes.
they've told me so many times now during a 3 week period that they've sorted the problem, but no different what so ever, in fact, its become worse.

uptill yesterday i lost lot of minutes to pakistan. big surprise today. connected first time on all calls to pakistan and quality of voice incoming was so fantastic that other family members could hear it as well without speakerphone.well done simply.

yeah, i've been giving them feedback for 3 weeks now re Pakistan. and they tried sorting it many times but failed miserably and i was getting really !!!!!! off cuz they were just scamming my minutes. so they emailed me 2 days ago saying they'll now re-route calls via BT for Pakistan so i'll never get problems again. fingers crossed, it should be good. but i now have to wait for my new billing cycle, cuz hav run out of minutes. hope the service stays good for a long while.

and majorie, its not actually a free service. this number has high termination charges and simply-fone will be pulling a good share of the profit from your mobile telecoms provider for each call made. this is probably why they can afford to re-route via BT.

whatdya u care if / how they make money... since when did u query 18866 or 1899 free to states etc....

point is simply-fone 07744974363 allow lots of us to make international calls FREE [for us!] from the mobile. :rotfl:

hehehe. cool!! i guess your right. but for me, i've bought a separate O2 contract just for this service, so i'm paying £30 a month and making £60 of calls to pakistan, i.e. it'd cost me £60 if i were using Alphatelecom at 15p a minute.

so i dont use the phone to call any UK phones, i have another contract on Three for that ;-)

but yeah, lets hope mobile providers dont start charging for this personal numbering service, cuz if they realise the high termination charges, they might just do that! u never know. lets hope not anyway.

    ciao

    numbering service??

i saw a link to the Ofcom website that showed it as a 'mobile service'

yeah, thats what i thought. but apparently a personal number is when it cant be traced to any network such as Orange, etc etc because its been registered privately and will be kept forever.

like the Three network, they charge for this simply-fone number because it comes under personal numbering service. but thats Three for you anyway!

apprently the Ofcom website is all over the place, but still i personally believe its a mobile number.

just had a chat with the CEO (the daddy!! hehe) of simply-fone and he said that they'd rather route calls to pakistan/asia via BT and lose a bit of money than screw their customers over by scamming their minutes. He said the service should hopefully remain like this because as long as they make money from customers dialling to other countries, they can afford to re-route calls to asia via BT.

so lets hope this REALLY is the next big thing guys!! its about time something like this happened in the UK. and lets just hope our providers like O2 and Orange dont screw us over by beginning to charge for this number.
