If you look at a few other posts of mine you will know why I am a bit tight off atm.
How would I manage not spending a penny (apart from board n stuff) between now and november first. Everytime I go somewhere i end up buying something
any advice?

Don't go into shops then! If you tend to buy in cash, do not carry any apart from a fiver or tenner for an emergency. I find it much easier not to spend money on stuffs when I stopped carrying cash.

Mind over Matter...
Just don't go into the shops or look at the window displays, stick ya ipod on tune in and blot it all out....Aspiring to be financially independent.... from my parents!0 -
Focus on the positive things that not spending will bring you .... not sure what that is in your case, but if you are trying to pay off debt say then if you know how much you will save by repaying say £10 of that debt now rather than in 3 years time say that will allow you to see the true cost of your spending and the benefit of not spending.0

Don't bring money/card with you. Freeze your cards. Change your route to work.0

Agree with the previous posters who say don't carry money. I leave my purse at home for this reason. I take packed lunch with me to work so I don't have to go to the shops and buy lunch. Try it and see how you get on. Good luck with your saving.#5 - Save £12k in 20260

Cut the credit cards up to start, then cancel them at the bank. Maybe keep one, and designate it for "emergencies only".
Don't carry your debit card around with you, and only take cash with you that you need for the day and stop walking past shops you know you cannot resist.0 -
If you want to go out in the daytime (aside from work), go somewhere where it is hard to spend money, such as go for a walk in the park or spend some time reading books, papers or mags in the library.
Also try to demotivate yourself by thinking what will happen in the next few weeks if you spend cash on shopping for things you might not really need, or can do without. Try to think beyond the initial rush of buying something new.
Good luck!Hoping this year is better than the last.
